Tayrona Cachaco River Ecohostal

The accommodation is close to the main entrance of Tayrona, which is why we chose this accommodation, a trip to Tayrona is easy to organize. The family at the accommodation is wonderful and the area is beautiful. They have their own kitchen and the food was good. You can also buy drinks (soft drinks, beer, etc.) from them for a good price. Their dogs are lovely too! We stayed in two different cabanas (Chia and Chapinero). Chia wasn't that nice, but we liked Chapinero where they moved us because of the storm.

We were there at a little bad time, as the storm started shortly after we arrived. The river flooded and destroyed some places and we were without electricity for a long time. We didn't have a common language with the family, but they handled the situation really well and made sure we were safe from the flood. They moved us to an upper cabin where the flood does not reach. Because of the rains, we couldn't get to Tayrona either. The floods are of course not the accommodation's fault and we are really sorry for all the damage the flood did to their place, I hope they get everything fixed and we wish them all the best!

The place is beautiful, it is close to the entrance of the Tayrona park and other nice beaches. The staff and owner are super nice and friendly.

Maybe a bit more of fruits on the menu would have been nice.

The staff is super friendly and accomodating. The terrein is large and very green.

Our chalet was supposed to be 38m2 with our own living room and the pictures suggest a private kitchen. However, it was a semidetached chalet, our part was only about 12m2 and a livingroom was nowhere to be seen. The kitchen was a community kitchen right next to our bedroom and the house was very noisy. We could literally understand everything being said in the kitchen or the room next to us and could even hear everything (not just the flushing) when our neighbours went to the toilet… The Lodge is close to a road, we know this but really underestimated this. I think it depends a little on what room you get, but ours was about 10 meters from the main road which has heavy trucks passing all day and all night. Lastly, our room was not properly cleaned when we arrived and it was nog cleaned at any point during our stay (4 nights). There was a dead insect and mould in the bathroom and dead insects in the corner of the bedroom as well.

I liked the environment that surrounded the Eco Hostal. Closed to the river very nice.

Well, the food timings, even though I'm originally from Colombia, I know in the coast timing is not the real time that I'm told. Still, saying that giving an estimate will be the best, especially if you come with kids. Also, some of the menu items, like the Picada are better not to do it. You can get yourself some fruit from the side of the road or explore places around. I have big suggestions for bringing your own lock, our lock was damaged and we asked for replacement, due to the busy season they forgot about it..

Struttura meravigliosa immersa nella natura, ottima per disconnettersi dal mondo esterno. Proprietari gentilissimi e simpaticissimi (è una struttura a conduzione familiare), disponibili ad accompagnarci al parco e a prepararci pranzo a sacco e cena. Abbiamo mangiato benissimo e pagato anche poco. Piscina top con vista sulla selva e le montagne. Unica pecca è che è andata via la luce il primo giorno ma sembra sia una cosa che capita spesso in quella zona quindi si deve essere pronti anche a questo. Per il resto, lo consiglio vivamente come punto di appoggio per esplorare il Parque Tayrona (raggiungibile con bus che passano più o meno ogni 12 minuti, tragitto che dura 10 minuti massimo), e le spiagge vicino (noi siamo stati alla spiaggia di Mendihuaca ma chiedete al proprietario e vi saprà dare tanti consigli per la zona!)

The owner was very very generous, friendly and helpful. He treated us as if we were part of his family. You don't get this treatment very often. The location is very close to the entrance El Zaino for the Tayrona Park. The vegetation around the property is fantastic. The only negative side is that the cabins are very close by the road and there is a lot of noise day and night. For the day it might not be a huge problem, but at night if you have poor sleep you might suffer from the noise.

We loved it! The place is amazing, it is right next to a river and the rooms were absolutely beautiful, comfortable, quiet and nice. You feel in a paradise, the staff is amazing, the food is incredible and the whole place makes you feel alive! The owner prepares Fiambres (lunch to go that is wrapped in plantain leaves) and everyone should buy it and try it! It is sooooo delicious! It was in our top trip of best food during our whole 15 days trip! So thank you so much Cachaco Hostel! We will definitely come back!

Natalia's place is a paradise! Natalia and her team are exceptional hosts, perfect communication, good recommendations, always available to us. Beautiful surroundings, a crystal clear river passes through the property. Perfect location to visit the Tayrona park, we stayed two nights and visited the Tayrona in the middle, so they stored our bags for us, which was very convenient. In addition, they prepared a delicious "fiambre" (typical Colombian food wrapped in banana leaf) to take with us when we visited the park. They also offered us a ride to the entrance of the park The cabin has everything you need for a comfortable stay in nature, spotless with nice touches and decorations, good access to the pool and small restaurant in case you don't want to cook. Without hesitation we would stay here again.

We have stayed at this beautiful land for a few nights and we had the best time within the whole 3 weeks we have spent in Colombia. They have welcomed us with geniune kindness and helpfulness, and our entire stay was like a dream. As soon as you set foot - i recommend barefoot - on this land you can just feel that every single tree, pet, meal, guest, wish - is treated with love and care. It is a blessing to be around such good, honest people like the hosts here, and their family. We would go back any day! The best place you can stay in the area❤️🙏

We have loved everything. Especially their spicy sauce!
