Tayrona Cachaco River Ecohostal

Big property with houses spread in a nice garden, pool was great to relax after a day of hike, or the river for the most adventurous ones (beware the current, doesn't look so, but it's strong). Close to the main road yet it felt in the jungle given the wildlife noise you could hear at night. Big bungalow with good amenities. No mosquito net but as far as I understood (the Spanish in that area of Colombia is super fast!), the bungalows were treated and I didn't have any problem with mosquitoes. The plates the family cooked for me were tasty (I was the only one to get breakfast / dinner). Odair the owner was really responsive for all my questions.

Regarding mealtime - Felt a bit too quiet, was alone having breakfast or dinner in their living room. I know they meant good and wanted to make me feel comfortable, but it was a bit strange - just my personal feeling though. Probably when they finish the works in the restaurant near the pool, it will be different (I enjoyed having my last breakfast there!) Also I had to remind about my times the first day ‘cos what I asked for wasn’t ready on time. No wifi in my bungalow. I said it several times but no check was done. Location far from all restaurants and shops. First evening I asked where to stop to buy water & fruits, instead the owner proposed me to drive me to the nearest small shop, without mentioning any costs. In the end, I was surprised to see a charge of 15,000 cop on the final invoice for a few minutes. Wasn’t really transparent, especially as my initial question was where to stop on my way back from the beach with the bus. I also asked for the invoice of the stay and gave my e-mail address, and haven't received anything yet (1 week later).

Lovely staff, beautiful location surrounded by the nature. Great pool and good food prepared by the family. 5min driving from the El Zaino park entrance. Perfect to chill and relax. Highly recommended!

.Spectacular, beautifull it is a different experience. The cabin is charming, they treated us like in our home, very friendly, comfortable and the owners are from Bogota! For me the best part.. close to Tayrona by bus 5 min and all the recommendations to go there were given by them.

Beautiful surrounding, nice hosts, cabin with everything you need and very close to the entrance of the national park
