Aberfoyle Inn

Prompt question about breakfast! There was none. The best thing was the friendly, helpful member of staff (there was just one, for the bar and reception) and the room was clean and comfortable although two floors up, which we weren't warned about but luckily we are fit in our seventies and eighties.

There were no facilities, just a room. Breakfast would have been good as it's 1000 before anywhere that does breakfast is open. The room is above a busy road and pub tables so it was noisy but this was acceptable for a short stay.

The property was ideally located for the wedding we were attending at nearby Karma Lake of menteith.

No toilet roll on arrival. Had to run shower and hot tap for 5-10 minutes before any hot water was available but this would only last a few seconds so cold showers were had. Shower was very poor,no pressure and water would cut out after a few minutes.

The staff were great but the property could do with a bit of an upgrade. Shower nozzle was blocked and the shower gel was empty. That being said it was not expensive and we had good craic with Dougie and the other locals in the bar.

Warm welcome. Bed comfortable & linen clean. Good toilet & handbasin very clean.

Sorry, but old, tired, marked, faded room. Avoided using the shower, not good. Overpriced for what was offered.

No hot water on arrival. Lock on door not working. Told by duty manager that only alternative was 40 minutes walk away. No offer of reimbursement.

Staff was friendly but unreliable (see below), rooms were clean and newly renovated however some minor technical issues need to be fixed.

We booked a room including breakfast. In the evening we even talked to the staff about breakfast times. However in the morning the inn was closed and no one of the staff was around for breakfast until we left at 9 a.m. Honestly spoken we consider this event an infamy, as we paid in advance and got nothing.
