Westpunt Beach Apartments

We were three couples with two rental vehicles visiting from the U.S. to vacation and go snorkeling. The property has three bedrooms, each with a double bed and air conditioning. I enjoyed the small pool. (It was dirty when we arrived, but was cleaned the next day.) The WiFi worked well. We didn't really use the television much. There are some nice common areas with good views. The property is close to a number of beaches in the area that have good snorkeling. There are a number of nice restaurants in the area. The apartment has one bathroom, but there was a second bathroom with a shower out by the pool, as well as an outdoor shower for rinsing off. I felt the area was safe.

We had a hard time finding the place since it was on a small dirt road with no sign. The contact person did not speak English making communication difficult. (Fortunately, some of the people in our party were able to converse with Julia in Spanish.) Parking was horrible -- not enough spaces, not marked, on a very steep hill. The kitchen was disappointing: No oven, no toaster, no electric kettle, no dish towels, no hot pads, not enough dishes or silverware, lack of serving dishes, etc. We ended up having to buy some things at the store including garbage bags, paper towels, toilet paper, etc, as well as ant poison to get rid of the small ants in the kitchen. There were other things that did not meet our expectations. The beds were not comfortable, there was no hot water in the kitchen, the sinks and showers did not always drain properly, and there was the constant smell of sewage in the area for the entire two weeks we were there. We felt that the website listing was misleading and were expecting the place to be a little nicer. There was no laundry available but the host did one load for me and hung my laundry on the public railing by the community used area by the small pool, including my undergarments! the laundry came back just as dirty as before and did not smell clean, there was no place to even hang a wet towel from the beach so we had to simply hang them on railings in public areas on the property. We were told to not put used toilet paper in the toilet but to instead put it in the trash can in the bathroom! Ick!

Great view from the terrasse, definitely the best view Westpunt has to offer; rather remote location - good value for money.

The apartment has been renovated, but it`s still an old building with some structural deficits - fine for those who are looking for an inexpansive place to stay and do not expect any frills. The owner is very responsive and supportive but not on-site; the housekeeper does not speak English, which makes communication difficult.

New Apartment and very clean. Very nice host, mrs Juliete was always nice, very friendly.

The parking lot, only a few parking spaces available and they are very small. The road to the apartment is very rough, not easy to ride (bush)

The studio is equipped with everything a person needs to stay a weekend away. From kitchen ware to the smallest details that will make your stay nicer, even when you brought your own stuff. It's really comfortable for a person seeking to chill in peace.

I have stayed here before and I like the hospitability of the hostess, the location and the quietness of the place. The amenities are nice for a weekend away from home.
