Alona's Coral Garden Resort (Adult-Only)

I've traveled in the Philippines for years, this is the best resort I have been to. It exceeded my expectations in every way. The restaurant was so good that I returned every day. I was able to sleep peacefully and take a dip in the pool every morning 🌅. I plan to return on my next vacation.

Everything was excellent.

The room is quite big, the beach is close and usually you can catch tuk-tuk driver right at the exit if you wait a couple of minutes, so no need to walk to the village centerl.

Though the beach is close, the road is abandoned, sometimes there are dogs walking here and there, so might be scary to walk alone or in the evening. I don't understand why adjacent hotels doesn't care about it at all. Yes, it's not your territory, but a good road and lights, absence of litter here and there will make everything muuuuch better.

Quiet & tranqil - an oasis. We stayed one night on Alona Beach, but was too frantic so we ran away. :)

Shine was very helpful and informative! All the staff were very welcoming, even provided us with welcome drinks and a cold towel. The restaurant was also great - best mango shrimp salad I’ve ever had! They also allowed us to have a late check out for a very reasonable fee.

Nothing

Okayish stay at a resort which is a bit far away from the Main Street but only 5 mins from the water. But it’s a cliff so you need to walk longer if you like to go into the sea. The room is generous and clean.

The pool is quite shady and smaller than on the pictures. I booked a private tour and arrived later the day, and was asked to pay an extra fee if I’d like to stay a couple of more hours as my flight was late in the afternoon. That’s understandable but taken into consideration that I book a super expensive transfer from the airport to the hotel and a tour, they could have been a bit more generous. Also, the beach which is closest, is the least good one on Bohol, so be aware of that. Don’t forget cash as there is no option to pay online or by card for anything in the hotel nor Bohol overall

Very relaxed vibe and friendly staff

Shine and Krystal working the reception are very helpful with information and accommodating my late check in and late check out. Jonie and Buknoy from housekeeping always have my room clean and cool.

That I could not have longer vacation there.
