The locations was in a quiet area of Kyoto that was still about a 15-20min walk to the subway. The facilities were very nice and the staff were extremely helpful. The food and drinks were a nice perk and helped us get going quickly in the morning so we had energy to explore. The room was very clean, spacious and the bed was extremely comfortable.

This place is a scam. It says breakfast is included. There is no rice, no salmon, no eggs. Do not come here! If you are over 6 foot , you cannot stand up in the room. It’s built for little people.

Beautiful place hidden away from the main area. We wanted to try out a different place because we stayed at mostly modern hotels. I loved that it was in a quieter location!

There are some steep stairs to get to the bedroom so be careful when going up and down, but we knew that already so it didn’t matter to us.

We were in #6 and loved the machiya environment but also appreciated the modern bathroom. We deliberately chose this place because it was far from the crowded touristy section of Kyoto; we think we made the right choice. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were quiet. We enjoyed the afternoon “tea” time and nighttime communal bar. One thoughtful room amenity that we loved was the electric foot massager— much needed after walking miles in Kyoto. Thank you for a lovely stay!
