Light but good breakfast. Very helpful staff with good advice.

The shower could be a bit better.

"Drexel House is a perfectly relaxing paradise!"

10.0

Drexel House is one of the nicest, most comfortable hotels I have ever stayed at! The property is gorgeous. The staff is amazing-so eager to please. Dan, the owner, is so friendly and pleasant that he made us feel completely at home. Diana is wonderful, as were Victor, Noreen and Betty. Breakfasts were delicious. I would not think twice about staying there again, or recommending it to anyone looking for a place to stay near Nairobi.

It was kind of out of the way, but worth it because it was so nice to come back to.

"Not worth the hype"

4.0

Surroundings and the main building are beautiful. The location is very good. The staff is very nice and helpful.

We stayed in one of their cottages. The cottage needs a full renovation: rooms are so dark due to dark colours, the shower floor flooded while having a shower, the whole cottage is tilted several degrees so be careful with your luggages on wheels, no silverware. We also run out of electricity the first night and the whole cottage was out of electricity. The staff wanted us to pay the electric bill, it is not said anywhere the customer is liable to do so! The breakfast: it should be ordered the previous night and you should do that, because otherwise you might not get what you would like to have. It felt like they don't have any extra food, only what has been ordered. So if you want something extra, you might not get it. The service was very slow, so be prepared to be there in time if you need to be somewhere at a certain time in the morning. The pool is very beautiful, but it is not heated. If you want to have your clothes washed, be aware they are using laundry detergent/ water softener with very strong odour! The stink stayed in our clothes even after we washed our clothes again at home! They dry the clothes outside, so if the weather is very moist or rainy, the clothes stays wet.

"This was the perfect start to our holiday in Kenya."

An absolutely beautiful hotel with stunning gardens and delightful staff. Eclectically furnished with antiques, it has real character. The staff do everything they can to make your stay easy and comfortable, even booking train tickets on line for us.

"Awesome location and the best staff in Kenya."

The beautiful garden and nice swimming pool. The private cottage was also really nice. In the evening they brought a jiko to warm the house a bit. Although it wasn’t very cold it gave us very cosy moments.

The staff were absolutely amazing - Jeremy in particular was so kind and helpful to us, and made us feel right at home!

Water in the bathroom was a bit on and off - the cold tap wouldn't work in the shower.
