Cat & Lion Country Pub and Hotel

The hotel was amazing. Having a pub next door just sets this apart. The room was spacious enough for 4 people. Dinner and breakfast in the pub were excellent, just mind where you sit for dinner as they have many evening events as well. Location to main cities and highway were great.

Nothing really got up early for the 0700 breakfast as I had a long journey. The staff were locked out and said at least 30 minutes until they could gain access. I could not wait so left not having my paid breakfast

The Inn was just lovely. Large rooms, big Tvs, comfortable beds. The staff were all fab and the breakfasts were amazing. Also had dinner the first night and as a large party, the service was excellent and the food was delicious. The room was very hot, but that was because of the weather, but a fan is provided, which helped a lot. Plenty of sockets and storage space which we appreciated as we were staying there for a nearby wedding. All in all, we had a lovely stay here and would readily book again if back down that way.

Could maybe have done with more towels and a bath mat. We did ask and were given another, but could've done with some hand towels and a bath mat.

Great accessible location, near the motorway but with nice quiet rooms. Staff very pleasant and friendly. Good food (dinner and breakfast) and draught beer (recommend the Chrystal Gold!). Lots of space to sit outside. Dog-friendly.

Nice clean hotel, good breakfast.

Early check in fee was totally out of order. I arranged my early check in months in advance and was not told this fee would apply. Really unnecessary and I felt exploited.
