Villa del Gattopardo

Stunning building beautifully renovated and furnished. It is an oasis of calm and quiet and was a wonderful way to end our trip to Sicily. We walked from the station (25 mins) but a little bit tricky with cases so took a taxi back (11 euros). The staff were very welcoming and helpful especially Agatha and the man on reception at night and this morning (sorry didn't catch his name). We booked the spa but the Turkish bath was being cleaned but the hydrotherapy pool was amazing. Our room was elegant, looking out to the gardens. However the dinner was the star, incredible food and wine, served by lovely staff with no rush. Breakfast was good, plenty delicious pastries and savoury options. And of course the fountain show just for us was incredible. This is a real jewel and excellent value. ( Actually saw the owner and would have told had my Italian been better!)

A recepção não foi muito cordial. Não teve explicação clara sobre o estacionamento e os locais do Hotel. Não fomos convidados nem informados sobre o funcionamento do show de luzes na fonte do Hotel. O que era um ponto alto na escolha do hotel. No quarto tinha o problema do local do closet ter uma janela sem possiblidade de fechar e ela deixava o nosso quarto e nós mesmos visíveis as pessoas que estavam trabalhando no jardim do Hotel

De plek op zich is heel mooi. Alleen wel ver van het centrum. De mensen waren over het algemeen vriendelijk

Het ontvangsst was gehaast en niet erg vriendelijk. Geen welkomsdrankje en ook geen mogelijkheid om dit te doen (bar was dicht). We hadden de mooiste kamer geboekt. Deze bleek geen terras of balkon te hebben. Viel tegen. We hebben om een andere kamer gevraagd die goedkoper was en uitgaf op het binnenplein. Deze was wel mooi. We hadden al betaald, dus logischerwijs geen refund, maar we bestelden wel gelijk roomservice waarop het eerste antwoord was dat dat 10 euro extra kosten was (beetje vreemd als je in een kamer gaat zitten die ruim 150 goedkoper was, dan wat we geboekt hadden). Het ontbijt viel erg tegen: veel zoet. Andere dingen tegen betaling bij te bestellen. I.t.t. de andere hotels die we daar hadden was dit echt de minste. Het zwembad was nog niet open en werd opgebouwd.

La beauté du lieu. Le personnel a été particulièrement agréable. Nous avons pu visiter les lieux et avons pu voir une vidéo retraçant l'histoire des lieux et les rénovations.

Notre chambre n'était pas très bien insonorisée, nous entendions la télé de la chambre voisine et les conversations. Pb de wifi.

El desayuno, el personal y las instalaciones en general eran excelentes.

No hay nada que no me gustara

One of the highlights of my trip to Sicily. The spa is amazing. The garden is beautiful.

The breakfast is okay, could be a little better, but not bad by any means.

Übernachtung in ganz außergewöhnlichem historischem Ambiente. Der zur Villa gehörende Park. Erstklassiges Frühstück, bei welchem der Fokus jedoch ganz klar auf Süßem liegt. Eierspeisen müssen (teuer) extra bezahlt werden. Die Empfehlung einer Angestellten zur Stadtbesichtigung im Parkhaus an der Piazza Orlando zu parken war äußerst hilfreich.

Bei einem Hotel dieser Preiskategorie würde ich erwarten zumindest eine Flasche Mineralwasser im Zimmer vorzufinden. Schön wäre es auch vielleicht mit einem Glas Saft willkommen geheißen zu werden. Die Benutzung des beworbenen, sehr kleinen Indoor Pools kostet 35 Euro pro Person/Stunde! Das ist lächerlich. In der nahen Umgebung kaum Restaurants, empfohlen wird nur das hauseigene Restaurant.
