Salomone Apartments II by Wonderful Italy

We (2 couples) stayed in 2 apartments, one with balcony overlooking the street of restaurants and the multi-floor one with a terrace area. Both in the same building which is in the heart of the old town on a quiet, mostly car-free lane and each had a partial sea view. Good facilities, comfy beds, sofas and plenty of space and the shutters blocked out a lot of light and inevitable street noise. We didn't cook in the apartments but looked like there was everything needed and other guests have left some useful items like beach umbrellas and books. Toiletries and bits of cleaning kit like dish soap and recycle bags were a bonus. Overall I would stay again. Ortigia was lovely!

Evening arrival carried an extra fee which we'd agreed but was a bit stressful having to rush from the airport to meet the hosts rather than collect a key from a keysafe, especially as parking nearby is difficult on the island. On the plus side, they advised us some great locations for free/less busy parking which saved us a fortune and time throughout the holiday. The apartment with terrace was more expensive but we felt the outdoor space was a little odd as overlooked by the lift and entrance to other apartments, they've added a bit of privacy screening but we were conscious of being disturbed or making noise when sitting out. Quirky layout where you entered through the lower floor into the bedroom, then the bathroom was up some stairs and the living area and terrace on a further top level - good if you want separated living space and don't mind the narrow stairs, not suitable for those with less mobility. We preferred the open plan room and liked watching the street below from the sall balcony, so depends on your preference.

You could practically fall into the sea from the room. Ortigia is lovely though very busy in August with tourists (mainly italian) Would recommend not taking a car as parking expensive and difficult unless you park in Syracuse itself. You don't need a car on the island. Cafes at both ends of via s Teresa excellent

Bar downstairs had a DJ Friday and Saturday though the double glazing kept most of the noise out.

The location for the price was perfect. The room was situated on a quiet street, with other apartments around. The bed was comfy and a good size as well.

Great location and nice balcony.

Air conditioning wasn’t functioning properly. Arrived later than expected for check in and was asked to pay a 20 euro late fee.

The hosts were wery helpful, we were welcomed at our arrival and provided with a map and useful information. The apartment is nice, well located in Ortigia, near the sea, restaurants and cafeterias. You can see the sea from the small balcony :)

Very well positioned in the city. Parking is difficult, but use the EasyPark areas and you are good off.

The parasol on the terasse was worn out / broken

The location was amazing. Cosy atmosphere.

The restaurants downstairs were very noisy on the weekend together with some other airbnbs in the building. The Wi fi wasn’t working at all and the staff didn’t reply back on the issue.

nice apartment close to everything

it was not possible to leave the luggage on the last day and we had to go all the way to the station to find a place to leave it. I think this is minimal service that should be provided.

It is in the center of Ortigia

We stayed there three nights. It has three floors, one with the bed, one with the bathroom and one with the kitchen and the terrace. The terrace is extremely small and when we arrived it was full of cleaning stuff. In the pictures it looks way better than in reality. The kitchen doesn't have anything. You will have to get your own salt, pepper and oil and they want you to clean everything before leaving but the apartment has no sponge to clean your plates. Moreover we didn't have enough toilet paper for the time we stayed.
