"Gorgeous home, we'll be back!"

We had a two night stay at Chalk House and it was just gorgeous, we would happily stay here again in a heartbeat. A couple of minutes walk from the town centre to all the bars and restaurants. 7 min walk to the Thames. The house itself was gorgeous, beautifully decorated and furnished. Lovely garden. I took my own fans as we're in a heatwave, however there are two stand up fans in the wardrobe which is great.

The bed in bedroom 2 wasn't particularly comfy and I could feel the springs whilst laid down, but that is my only criticism.

Excellent location, very lovely house, well equipped.

Locked window in kitchen, parking was an issue but aa small price for the location.

"Beautiful house"

Great central location. Very clean and well presented house. Nice little garden. All the facilities you needed for a longer stay.

Some will struggle with the tight steep stairs. Only toilet is downstairs with both bedrooms upstairs.

"Its was an ok property But I would not rent it again"

It was in close proximity to the town. It was compact but had what we needed.

Its a hard location to do drop offs and picks being on a busy road. The biggest issue we had was the heating. When we arrived it was stuck on auto and manual and would not call for heat. The first nite it was 16 in the house. My husband and daughter read up on line how to fix it the issue so we could use the thermostat. Once that was working we discovered that only one heater was working, in the bathroom. The valve had been turned off in the large bedroom so that was able to get going. After a several attempts at trying to fix the small bedroom and the ssitting area, we could not get those units to turn on. I did contact the property with the issues. I got a couple of responses but nothing that addressed the issue of no heat in two rooms.

Location and decor

The stairs were a slight challenge in the night but we managed! The pub behind was a bit noisy on Sat night.
