"Excellent stay in beautiful hotel and location."

10.0

Highly recommend this hotel for a relaxing break. The facilities are excellent, views stunning and staff very friendly and efficient. We slotted into a routine of breakfast, beach club until 5ish, infinity pool (when the temperature dropped a little) then dinner at various terrace restaurants in Kalkan. Would normally try to mix things up a bit on holiday with excursions etc but when the set up is so good, we decided to stick with this schedule. What little else we did do included the water taxi to Kalkan and a reasonably priced 3h spa package with Turkish bath, massage, scrubs etc and both are recommended. As other reviewers during this period pointed out, the 52 bedroom hotel wasn't full and this added to the peaceful ambience. The beach club was popular with guests and visitors but there was always plenty of beds and the service was, again, top notch. Somewhat regretting not trying the hotel a la carte restaurant one evening but will do so on our return.

"Fabulous hotel, Junior Suite With Pool heavenly (but a note for sun worshippers)"

10.0

A private pool is our little holiday extravagance - it’s the main criterion we use for choosing our hotel each year. So it is no minor praise when we say this is probably the best pool, and the best room in a holiday hotel, we have ever had. Lures hotel is a fabulous destination. We visited in late June when it was probably only half- to two thirds full, which made it even more peaceful and personal. The staff were really friendly and helpful. English is perhaps not as ubiquitous here as in the Greek hotels we have visited, but we never had any problems making ourselves understood, and many staff are fluent. The highlight was our room - Junior Suite with Private Pool. The room is vast, with pretty much everything you could possibly need. It even had a totally unexpected second double bedroom (perfect when snoring issues arise). Really well laid out, clean, everything in perfect working order, housekeeping great, stocked minibar, really excellent. (Our only criticism: the TV is not great - almost no English channels, no built-in apps, and apparently only connects to Android and Windows devices for screen sharing - certainly couldn’t get any of our Apple devices to connect). The pool is just out of this world. Long enough to allow for proper swimming, chest deep and somehow always the perfect temperature. Even better, you can rest your chin on your arms on the side of the pool and enjoy the view out across the bay and watch the tourist boats, the parasailing, jet skiing, the occasional big posh yacht and even the cargo ships and oil tankers patrolling the horizon. It was incredibly peaceful. The rest of the hotel lives up to the billing too. It is quite small, built on the side of the hill cascading down to the water. The beach club and bar at the bottom is open to the paying public, but the rest from reception upwards is private to hotel guests. Everywhere is clean, quiet and modern. You have the choice of taking the steps up to your room or a ride on one of the electric buggies! Staff are really friendly and eager to help. Breakfast, while perhaps not the most extensive or extravagant, is well presented with a good choice and very high quality offerings, including freshly made-to-order omelettes and eggs. There are some fabulously tasty things to be found, such as the chocolate and nut spread and a red olive-based paste (I forget the name) that makes your meat, bread and cheese go zing! Dinner in the a la carte restaurant is equally great, with a really good selection of dishes. (Small hint - we were troubled a bit by a couple of persistent wasps but if you ask the staff they have a neat trick with smouldering coffee grounds that really works!). Oh, and the Bomonti filtered beer is a must. The hotel has a spa including an incredible Turkish bath experience, not to be missed if, like me, you have never had the pleasure before. We have just one note of caution if you are real sun worshippers. Our Junior Suite with Private Pool faced west or south west, meaning the sun takes some time to come over. There is a fabulous patio area with great furniture just outside the room, but there is also a permanent awning which, combined with the western aspect, means the patio does not see any direct sun at all until early afternoon. For us this was not an issue - we can’t do a full day in the Turkish sun anyway. But if you are a true all-day sun worshipper my tip would be - take the room anyway, because room and pool are just so perfect, but plan to spend the morning hours down by the main hotel pool, which also looks fabulous. (Your private pool, in contrast, is pretty much in permanent sun. We found this a great compromise - shaded patio, then venture into the beautifully cooling pool, kitted out with suncream, shades and hat if needed, to cool off and watch the world go by. Heaven!) Lures Hotel is fabulous - highly recommended! Chris and Julie Th

"Luxury experience from start to finish"

10.0

Lures is nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, everything felt like a true luxury experience. The property is absolutely stunning, our room was spacious and included a private pool, the sea is crystal clear, and the beach club is superb! We ended up having dinner at the hotel restaurant every night because the food and ambiance (and the service!) were also wonderful. Throughout our entire stay, we never even left the resort—can’t wait to come back!

"Unforgettably luxurious stay"

10.0

I visited Kalkan two years ago with friends and loved it, so this time I came back with my mum for a more relaxing break – and we were completely wowed by The Lures. It was my first stay here and can safely say the most luxurious holiday I’ve ever had! We were lucky enough to stay in a huge, luxurious suite with two bathrooms and a jacuzzi, which was spotless every single day thanks to the wonderful housekeeping team. The suite also had its own sun loungers that got the afternoon sun, perfect for unwinding with a book or just soaking in the view. Room service was fabulous and the bar was available 24/7, which felt like such a treat, and the beach club is gorgeous – right on the sea with extra wide, super comfortable sun chairs. The sea itself is unbelievably blue and clear. We loved the food at the beach bar, especially the Lures sandwich, the Lures pasta, and the grilled corn. For a bit of breeze, we’d go up to the infinity pool, which has stunning views of the bay and sun chairs positioned in the water itself, just heaven. There’s a boat that takes you directly into Kalkan town, plus a shuttle if you prefer - leaving at 10 and 7, and we usually used this to go into town for the evening. Breakfast also had gluten-free options, which was really appreciated. All the guests we met were lovely, and the staff genuinely can’t do enough for you – they were endlessly helpful and kind. Overall, an unforgettable stay. We’re already talking about when we can come back.

"Little piece of paradise"

8.0

We stayed at Lures Hotel from 17 to 24 June and loved every moment. We wanted somewhere special to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary, and we were not disappointed. The icing on the cake was our daughters joining us last minute and Lures upgrading both rooms, next to each other, to deluxe rooms with jacuzzi. We were room 2203, the balcony was huge with the full sea view slightly obscured by the villas in front of us. Our daughters’ 2204 had a smaller balcony and jacuzzi (more whirlpool bath that you have to fill/empty) but lovely to soak in and enjoy the fabulous view. The rooms are vast and have everything you need, including toiletries, dressing gowns, slippers and a complimentary bottle of water each day. The bed was the comfiest we’ve ever stayed in. We had a few issues that were reported and dealt with the next day. This is our fourth visit to Kalkan and the beach club is, in our opinion, the best we have visited. Guests have an allocated area at the sea front with larger beds, steps going into the sea and cabanas. The food was excellent. We hired the VIP cabana which has four payment options. We opted for no.1 which was the cheapest at €100 - basically just the hire of the cabana; it was worth every penny. We absolutely loved it. A button was provided to use when you wanted food or drinks. It was so peaceful. When you want to return to your room the beach club call a buggy for you. We only used the 7.00 pm courtesy bus into town once as it was a little early for us. Taxis were 220tl into town; we didn’t see anyone braving the walk; far too steep for us for sure. There is also a courtesy boat for your use. We also loved using the infinity pool; didn’t catch the name of the lovely gentleman working the bar but he was amazing. Again, a lovely, quiet location and plenty of available sunbeds. This pool was purely for hotel guests. The gym/spa is directly behind it. There is a slight language barrier but imagine as the season progresses, this will improve. Not a major problem for us but clearly was for some. Our main issue was the signing of your bill each day. This really needs to be reviewed. We were called back on several occasions to sign a bill we had already authorised. The staff seemed very tense about ensuring this was done. Maybe a computerised system that can be signed by the guest at the time would alleviate the awkwardness. We did ask if our daughters could have a late check out but considered €150 extortionate. We felt, as the hotel was not full, it would have been a nice gesture to offer this until 4.00 pm without charge. Our issues were quite minor but at the price paid for the holiday you wouldn’t expect any. We will visit again, for sure, and hopefully we’ll be able to award 5*.
