We have stayed many times and found room, service and breakfast a consistant standard. Location is easy to get into Bath by car or using the Park and Ride which is closeby.

its not nice every morning 7.30 builders start work next to ours doors -in room is not place for our belongings-in bathroom not even one shelf -towels is so fluffy they cover our clothes with fluff

The layout of the property would have been fine in different circumstances, but the specific conditions made the layout considerably less than optimal.

When we arrived we were very quickly told that there would be building works beginning the following morning (around breakfast time) which would last for the duration of our stay (5 nights). The impact of this was restricted access to the building and the presence of builders inside the premises while we were having breakfast, and also moving around both the inside and outside of the premises during the working day. There was no forewarning about the works before arrival and the disruption was presented as a fait accompli. Considering that the stay (at a cost of £675 for 5 nights) was part of our holiday, this was a significant disappointment and not one we could change in any way at such short notice. While the female manager/owner talked about (to paraphrase) not being afraid of a challenge, she seemed to have given little thought as to whether her paying guests would feel the same! At no point was any discount or reduction in expenses offered given the changed circumstances of the stay. I felt inhibited in mentioning the subject, but believe there should have been, and still should be, consideration of the loss of amenity paid for in advance by guests. This felt like sharp practice to me. On further issue was very inconsistent housekeeping practice: - Our bedroom was not vacuumed once over 6 days - Used cups and glasses were not changed or left alongside clean ones. - The bed was made only twice over the period of our stay. - Staff did not seem to have a clear, routinised daily plan for their work.
