"Traumhafter Ausblick"

10.0

"First time in Skopelos, not our last. Would definitely do Villa Aloupi again."

10.0

Clean. Easy walk down the streets and steps into port shops.

Slightly dated but that’s all the charm! WiFi was terrible so if you have work to do or kids have school you’d have to go down the street.

"Property is beautiful, clean, and well appointed. I definitely recommend!!"

9.0

Once you get to the house, the drive up is worth it. The view from the house is amazing. It overlooks the town and sea below.

There is no signage upon a arrival to the property. It would be helpful to have a sign or two along the way letting you know you are on the right path. The road getting up to the property is challenging if you are not comfortable with narrow/twisting Greek roads. The keys were not in the lock box upon arrival. After a few phone calls to England and a text to the owner, he came by with the keys.

"Just what we were looking for, secluded, exceptional;ly friendly locals, some wonderful food, great"

10.0

The villa was secluded near the top of a hill overlooking Skopelos town and the views were stunning, pool was the perfect size as there were only two of us. Evi was in constant contact when needed and extremely helpful when recommending restaurants, beaches, gyms etc, she could not do enough for us. A 15 minute walk into town with a plethora of restaurants to choose from, we particularly liked El Atrio, Muses and Koraliu at Agnontas about a 15 minute drive away. The tuna moussaka was one of the best dishes I have ever had! A car is essential to get around and some of the drives to Glysteri beach and Limnonari are not for the faint hearted if you dont like heights but all drivers were very diligent so just slow down. Panormos Beach was the easiest to drive to as no steep windy raods to negotitate but Glysteri was our favourite with a lovely restaurant as well. Kastani most famous due to Mamma Mia but just a quick visit. Most beaches are a mixture of sand and shingle but all are good and great staff as well with beds etc. Kraken Taverna at Panormos gives free beds all day as long as you spend 20 Euros on drinks or food and food was excellent. Anyway we had a wonderful stay and would definitely go back.

I mentioned a 15 minute walk there, coming back is more challenging as extremely steep hills to climb, worth working out the best route back from the port area through Skopelos town as you can minimise number of steps, forst couple of times we failed miserably and was a tough walkj. I would say anyone with any mobility issues at all would probably need to drive there and back, not a negaive but really does need to be taken into consideration.

"Lovely villa with stunning views, good value for money"

8.0

Stunning views. Lots of space inside and out, well equipped, lovely feel. Despite a few niggles, it was totally worth it as it’s a lovely villa.

2 of the 3 beds were very hard. The pool was cloudy with chlorine, but still ok. Neither shower head stayed up - nice strong shower but you needed to hold in your hand. The road to access the property is very steep and windy, we did not attempt to walk to Skopelos Town.

"All about the views!!!"

6.0

This property is all about the view. Fabulous views over Skopelos bay. We stared at those beautiful views for hours from the poolside, from the terrace or from the giant picture windows inside the kitchen living area. Absolutely phenomenal. A large dining table inside was comfortable for all of us and there was a table for 6 outside too, although that made it a little cramped to walk round to the pool area. The sun loungers were very comfortable, solid wooden loungers with wheels and comfortable mattresses. Washing machine was available to use. Air conditioning in lounge and all bedrooms which was crucial at night. The AC in one bedroom broke on a Saturday but Evi from the management company was very responsive, providing some immediate advice to help fix it which didn’t solve the issue but was appreciated. By Sunday the owner had arranged for an engineer to repair it which was impressive.

The mezzanine floor seems to have been made into two rooms, they have very low ceilings and you have to duck as you enter or exit the stairs to make sure you don’t hit your head. Both bathrooms are downstairs, one in en-suite to the downstairs bedroom, there is no bathroom upstairs. Upstairs rooms perhaps better suited to children although one of the has the roof terrace. There is a problem with the lights in one of the bedrooms upstairs. They do not switch off properly as such they would keep you awake at night. To stop this, they have been covered over with cardboard and brown sticky tape which means you are instead in total darkness and can’t turn the lights on! You have to rely on a table lamp instead in the dark. One of the plug sockets in the upstairs bedroom is just left completely broken. The property gets a good sunrise but in July, was in the shade by 6pm. This was okay for us but we missed the evening sunshine and sunset. Do not underestimate the steep drive up to the property. Our small 1.2l Hyundai hire car could not get up it, we just slipped back down the polished stones in the concrete. There is an alternative route round above the property allowing you to drop down into the driveway but this takes an extra 15 mins along bumpy unmade farm track. Hire a 4x4! Unfortunately we couldn’t switch to 4x4 by the time we arrived. An unknown car just parked on our drive most nights, I suppose it is not unusual for Skopelos with parking challenges but was a bit disconcerting. The walk into town is short and down hill but the walk back nearly killed me!
