Springfield Inn

The hotel is in need of a makeover. They offer a continental breakfast. Lighting is limited in the rooms due to energy efficient bulbs. Beds are not bad for a couple night stays. Staff are friendly and helpful. Average place to spend the night if you are not going to stay in the room much.

My wife and I spent 2 nights at this hotel in late September 2014, it was supposed to be 3 nights but we couldn't handle this place another night. First off we checked in late Thursday night (Friday morning) to find out there were no available nonsmoking rooms with a single bed. Being newly weds we still like the thought of sleeping in the same bed with each other. We were given the option of a single king bed room on the smoking floor. I've been in hole in the wall bars that smelled better than this place, as it smelled like every person on this floor smoked a carton of lucky strikes right before we got off the elevator. Anyway we got our room with two "queen" beds which were double beds at best. The beds are like sleeping on a sheet of plywood. The worst part of the whole stay was a clan of young basketball players that were staying at this hotel. They felt the need to run up and down the halls and up and down the elevator until approximately 4 am every night. I complained to the front desk and didn't really get much help. We left early Saturday morning and told the front desk that we were checking out early due to the place being extremely noisy and very uncomfortable. The people at the front desk simply said "ok you're good to go, you don't owe anything." I booked this hotel through Priceline so as soon as I returned to TX, I called priceline's customer service and complained. The customer service rep called the hotel and relayed my complaint to which they were told that no reimbursement would be given. Kentucky was a beautiful state and the bourbon trail was absolutely wonderful, I HIGHLY recommend you DO NOT stay in this hotel. Don't waste your money on a business that obviously doesn't really care about their customers.

I stay in hotels 4 to 5 nights a week for work. Expedia ranked the hotel 2.8. When I arrived I was pleasantly surprised. The drive is in good repair and the entrance well lit. My initial assessment was that this number was too low. Older decor but not worn or shabby. Bathroom spotless, pleasant smell and friendly staff. Two things really disappointed me. Finding the hotel in the dark was difficult. Signage is too small and there are no lights. My bed was extremely uncomfortable. Get me a different mattress and I will stay there again.

The hotel has very good service, the price is right, and the people are very warm and welcoming. The breakfast in the morning is good and accommodating, with fresh fruit and a lot of options. I have stayed here many times, and I highly recommend it.

The service in this hotel could have been a lot better the attitude of one worker was unacceptable, when a family member asked for three of the little bars of soap because there were three adults in our room, she inappropriately suggested that he might be putting the soap in his pocket to take home.

We stayed here in May 2014. Our room was spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable, there was an old TV in the room, but a big bathroom and plenty of clean towels. The breakfast in the morning was fairly good, a step above continental with biscuits and gravy, some fresh peaches, hard boiled eggs, and then the standard cereal and donuts. The hotel is a little hard to find. It's not on the main highway. You either have to turn off the highway well before you get to the hotel, or turn after you pass the hotel and go back. I found the signage to be a little hard to decipher the first time. And my biggest complaint? In this area, my Verizon smartphone barely got a signal so I was hoping for a decent WiFi connection. Neither my two smartphones nor my laptop could reliably connect to the WiFi signal. I called the front desk because I thought maybe there was a different and more reliable signal. The girl at the front desk simply advised me to connect to whatever was available and when I described my trouble, there wasn't anything she could do. The WiFi was unusable. Oh well. Life goes on, but it shouldn't be that hard to maintain a WiFi network.

Very hard to find hotel from the road. When I checked in I had to give my license so they could scan a copy of it to check in. First time ever for this. The room was big, but no microwave or refrigerator. Walls very thin so you heard every noise. Beds sagged in the middle and pillows were small. The bathroom was good size. Place is good for a one night stay. Would not want to do a long term stay here.

The room was very dated

Well, mostly quiet. We did have a room on the ground floor next to the stairwell and anytime someone went up or down the stairs it was noisy. But the room was clean (cleaner than some other places with higher ratings I've stayed at in central Kentucky), the beds (including linens) were in good shape (but yes, need a newer mattress), and it was convenient. Staff was nice. No issues!

We had good service, nice size rooms and good wifi. It is a less expensive inn so no fridge, no microwave, no iron in room but available. Beds are average, rooms looked clean but linens were questionable, they looked clean but were Not crisp on the mattress, perhaps due to years of use. A fair price paid for a fair overnight experience.
