"Amazing hotel- best place I stayed in Santa Teresa"

9.0

Amazing beautiful comfy room with AC. very big with great bathroom. lovely pool and kitchen area was so clean and modern. Very secure which as a solo traveller I loved. styling of the place is gorgeous. Check in was easy and so close to the beach. Close by is a cafe and a restaurant.

A little bit noisy next to the road but nothing too bad. everything else was great !

"Wonderful Trip/Great Surfing Instruction"

10.0

Recently got back from our first visit to Costa Rica. What a wonderful experience! Stayed at Blue Surf Sanctuary in Santa Theresa. Lots of new updates, renovations, etc. Cozy place with a short walk to the beach (2 minutes at a snails pace). The surfing instruction was awesome! Toro was a great teacher, able to break down surfing to its elements. I would highly recommend Toro if you’re in the market for a top notch instructor! Daniel Eurich

"while the property was amazing. the highlight of this place is the staff. Fiona the owner takes guests happiness and wel"

10.0

location location location. this is the quieter end of the beach. there’s a super cool bar called roco mar right on the beach and the amazing Nami sushi just down the road and cafe social on the corner for breakfast. the beach here has a little rip to get you out back surfing and it’s a less crowded in the water. the property itself is exceptionally clean and well maintained. it’s four bungalows. they are in perfect condition with your own balcony and a cool little communal area. it makes for a real social space. and the pool is really well maintained.

nothing. honestly. nothing.

"Surfing paradise"

10.0

I am staying at this unique 4 bungalow complex with swimming pool and shared kitchen. It’s just magical, well maintained, new upgrades have been taking place and you can see the love that is being poured into this gem. I’m a solo traveller taking advantage of the surf school onsite at the property. The instructor Toro is the best of the best with 16 years experience on this stretch of water. I have managed to learn and gain knowledge not just about surfing but the tides and water conditions and when to go so I can take these skills home with me. I can’t wait to come back!

"Cabanas are nice, but Santa Teresa disappointing."

8.0

The rcabins are large and really cute, great balcony. It was clean. it’s nice that they have a kitchen to prepare your breakfast. they also gave a large fridge where you can put your food. Small pool, for cooling down. A lot of restaurants near by.

We didn’t have water for more than half a day. The staff didn’t say a word, just handed over the key. Only one parking spot, we parked on the dirt road to the beach. The beach and Santa Teresa is a bit disappointing. It’s difficult to reach, very primitive, sea to rough to swim, so not the beach days I had expected. I think the cabanas are a bit overpriced.

"Pura Vida at its finest!"

10.0

My childhood best friend and I had the absolute joy of staying at this wonderful resort for 10 days of surfing and getting off the grid. The location is perfect for those looking to be slightly away from the busy center of town but also a short trip/walk (1 mile to everything in town). It is up the block from a great restaurant/hangout Rocamar and Cafe Social for breakfast/lunch with delicious ice coffee and staff. The room was perfectly rustic but super comfortable and loved the form bed for aching back of 50 something guys lol. The top item that I can rave about is the staff. All were so helpful and friendly throughout the whole stay. Especially need to point out that Maykol was a young man that was on top of every need and even tried to anticipate our needs (surf forecast, taxis, covid testing, etc). He became like our amigo that we looked foreard to seeing each day. The property manager, Jude, was also on top of a couple items for us and gave us great advice on the surf and local advise- just a joy to chat with each time we saw him. Finally even though we did not take surf lessons, Toro the resident pro, was so full of help and knowledge on the breaks, the area, the people. He embodied the pura vida mentality and we had many deep conversations on surf, life, history, etc. In the end both my friend and I were more than happy with Blue Surf Sanctuary and it more than lived up to exactly the escape we were looking for. Had to share my appreciation of the resort and the people for sure. Best Eric

We loved it. Toro the surf instructor was awesome and helped my wife get the wave of her life! Super awesome place to visit and I would highly recommend staying here. Also, Carlos was super helpful as well. He gave us tons of recommendations on what to do and where to eat and even helped us get an ATV
