Villa Kalisat Resort

The views of the jungle and location are out of this world! Villa Kalisat is really traditional and a great taste of Balinese culture. The staff were amazing and most importantly, the food was excellent.

My stay at Villa Kalisat Resort was truly incredible. From the very beginning, the staff made all the difference — they were warm, attentive, and genuinely kind, always making sure we felt comfortable and taken care of. What really makes this place special, though, are the views. Waking up to the jungle, with the cliffside and the river in the background, is something hard to put into words — it’s peaceful, breathtaking, and deeply relaxing. It is located at the edge of a serene and lush valley with a sweeping drop towards the river below. It is actually as green and well-styled as the pictures at booking.com suggest. The place is run by people from the surrounding village and the staff goes to great lengths to make you feel at home. We also received valuable help on organising our daily excursions, and can certainly recommend others to do the same. We travelled with teenagers and stayed in the 'river' and 'monkey' rooms. The river room offers a great private balcony towards the greenery, and the monkey room is spacious with a lot of balinese styling and a cosy feel. We can recommend both. Villa Kalisat is a boutique hotel, so don't expect five star conformity, but you'll have to look hard to find better hospitality and a more stunning setting.

Barely anything. The place covers a lot of vertical space, so expect stairs. Like most of Bali, Ubud has lots of cars and scooters and an inadequate road network, so also expect spending time in traffic.

Vild med beliggenhed, venligt personale, rene pools, autentisk, smukt, god morgenmad. Taxamanden tilknyttet var meget god til at fortælle om alle de steder vi besøgte. Vi havde nærmest vores egen tourguide. Massage helt outstanding god.

Svært at forstå personalet, deres engelsk var usikkert og vi gik forbi hinanden en del gange. Frokost og aftenmenukortet var lidt kedeligt i forhold til hvor vi kom fra. Hellere få men udsøgte retter. Måske inspiration kan hentes fra hotel Blue Karma i Saminyak. Det var nærmest gourmetmad til samme priser - og pyntet så flot og elegant. Blot en ide:-). Vi var på en kort gåtur fra hotellet ned mod floden lige under. Var meget overrasket over al det skrald, skrammel, svineri folk har efterladt på så smuk og ellers autentisk lille rute. Måske man skulle hyre nogle folk et par timer en dag og få samlet skraldet og evt sætte skilt op at man skal fjerne eget affald. Det var virkelig synd med det syn så smukt et sted.

Das Personal ist außergewöhnlich herzlich – unsere Wünsche wurden uns förmlich von den Augen abgelesen. Wir hatten ein traumhaft großes Zimmer mit fantastischem Blick ins Dschungeltal. Von dort aus konnten wir Affen, Glühwürmchen und Fledermäuse beobachten – einfach magisch. Frühstück ein Traum, Anlage perfekt zum Abschalten und Genießen. Absolut unvergesslich – wir kommen jederzeit sehr gerne wieder!
