Johnstown Motel

What sets this place apart is the beautiful location, overlooking the St. Lawrence River, and the exceptional friendliness of the owners. They felt like friends. And they gave us a great recommendation for what to do for dinner and poking around the area. They also relocated us to the back of the building so we would have less road noise and a better view. The bathroom had been redone recently and was exceptionally clean.

For that price and given that it is an older motel, it was really great. But the fact is, it is an older place, small rooms, not great cross ventilation, and if you open the blinds to let air in, you sacrifice privacy. But it was priced reasonably for these few drawbacks.

Amazing location. Right next to river and rooms had a great view. Great value for the money.

The location...on the St Lawrence River Gazebo in the middle of very well maintained grounds that was perfect to sit through a thunder storm and watch the world go by Owners and staff are very friendly

The rooms are small but comfortable

Very clean and comfortable. Owners were very thoughtful and made sure we had everything in the room. We got a room with the amazing river view. For the price , you will not get a better room with a better view

There was no breakfast available, the location is good, just the BQ in relation to the picnic tables, gazebo were not near each other. The swimming pool is non operational but that was also not advertised as available. The view and area down by the water was lovely, quiet. The Motel room was on the small size, hot water took a while to heat up but once warm was fine. Beds were clean and comfortable and staff kept the room clean. The key-lock system was a bit rough to open. Overall the property is nice, needs a bit of upgrading, here and there.

Everything was great. Room was neat and clwan and bed was comfortable. Beautiful view of the St Lawrence River just out our window. Staff was very friendly also. Would definitely recommend this motel

Great location, clean and onwers super friendly and accomodating. This is our 3rd time staying here.

We really enjoyed our time at Johnstown Motel. Beautiful scenery, comfortable room, very comfortable beds and warm blankets! Recycling boxes and the room got cleaned while we were out We will definitely be back again! Worth it 100%

Shower was a bit small but the water pressure was nice. The hot faucet knob really gets hot to the touch but I’m thankful for warm showers!!

The way a Motel has to look like. Old fashioned, but nice. The location at the water is beautiful. Nice and helpful owners.
