Spotlessly clean . Loads of room . 2 showers / bathrooms a plus . Ideal location/ base for mountain walking in the cairngorms. Beautiful site. Cannot recommend highly enough .

Nothing we didn’t like about the property, we just found the telly slightly small for the size of room it was in but for all we were in to watch the telly it wasn’t an issue.

Very clean and comfortable,great location aswell! Will be staying there again for sure!

The cabin is very clean, comfortable and well equipped. We are a family of two adults and two teenage girls and the accommodation was a good size for us. Particularly having an en suite and a separate bathroom. It's in a really good location in Aviemore - walking distance to town and beside the river - lovely to see ducks out for a wander. The site has a welcoming pub with a pool table and the Bridge Inn is a five minute walk away.

There is nothing at all wrong with the lodge. The site has no recycling, which is not ideal, and should be addressed by the site, not the owners of the lodge - I'm only stating this in case the site owners view reviews.

This was our second stay at Ruapehu Lodge and we already can't wait to return again. We are a family of 2 adults and a 4 year old. The lodge has everything you would expect (and more) to need for a family stay, the furniture is modern and comfortable, the amenities are brilliant. It really is a home from home stay, the lodge is so clean and has such a homely feel about it. The location is perfect and so many places are within walking/cycling distance. The water temperature is extra hot, the shower pressure is excellent and all the rooms are spacious with plenty of storage options. There is also a plastic storage box out on the decking which we used to keep our outdoor shoes/bigger items, as well as a fixed biked storage rack which we also used. The hosts sent a few messages in the run up to our stay with all the information we needed as well as contact information in case we needed any additional help. The holiday park is very clean and quiet with a great bar/restaurant on site. It's possibly not the most child friendly resort in the area as there is nothing for children to do, no parks or play areas etc however this did not impact our stay as we were so busy out and about exploring. We thoroughly enjoyed exploring the area and cycling out to the little coffee spots and local lochs. We really can't wait to return again soon.

The lodge is starting to show some age/wear and tear (ie, some corner edging was loose in the bathrooms, and some drawers were a bit temperamental/runners were loose) but any issues were very minor and did not impact our stay. The utensils are probably ready for an upgrade, some were damaged or slightly melted from use on the cooker but again this is nit picking. There is no spare bedding or towels (we stayed Monday to Sunday) but there is a washing machine in the lodge to use to do your own laundry. I had looked on a few of the descriptions to see if there was a washing machine/washing facilities and could not see anything so it might be beneficial to make this facility better known within the description and facilities section on the booking page.
