The location is absolutely stunning, the tents were spacious and comfortable, the staff was really nice & the breakfast was delicious!

Our stay at Northern Lake Lodge is a highlight of our trip to Egypt. The site is dreamy - there is a relaxed atmosphere, beautiful views and it's in a great location. The stay was wonderful and we particularly enjoyed sipping mint tea by the evening campfire and having a feast for breakfast with the distant view of flamingoes on the lake. Ahmed and the team are super friendly and hospitable, and helped us to arrange several incredible trips. You can't miss the safari tour and visiting the desert on an unforgettable trip with a legendary tour guide! We also recommend the boat trip and taking a tuktuk into Tunis village to explore. The site has a calm, natural, outdoorsy feel whilst offering spacious, clean and cosy accommodation options. It's the perfect relaxed getaway after exploring Egypt's cities and busier tourist sites, and deserves a place on any itinerary in its own right.

Mosquito bites! But that's just a factor of the local landscape so come prepared. (Sitting out and enjoying dusk from the cosy outdoor space is worth it!)

I can't decide what is best, the beautiful setting or the warm hospitality, but both were fantastic. The wooden cabins were so creatively designed; our daughter enjoyed the queen-size top bunk while I enjoyed being in the cozy large nook below. The property dog is extremely gentle and friendly and if one stops petting him he will gently lay a paw on you to demonstrate what he likes! The manager was so gracious and organized, whether for meal times or arranging vehicles. He even arranged horses to be brought direct to the lodge for us to use with guide. The food was amazing - we wish we had brought extra stomachs for everything put before us! The upper level of the restaurant, looking out on the enormous lake, was delightful.

🇰🇷 한국어 후기 이집트에 살면서 이 숙소에 묵어 봤다는 것은 마치 인생의 모든 좋은 운을 끌어다 쓴 것과 같다. 그만큼 행운이라 할 정도로 만족스러운 경험이었다. 페이윰의 이 숙소를 즐기는 몇 가지 꿀팁을 남기자면, 1. 카이로에서 숙소로 이동할 때 ‘사막 보호구역’을 지나서 갈 것 (강력 추천) 이곳은 너무나도 저평가된 사막이며 아직 관광객들에게 널리 알려지지 않아 마치 우주에 있는 듯한 고요함을 느낄 수 있다. 보호구역 통과 비용은 5달러이지만 그 이상의 가치가 있다. 2. 저녁 식사는 꼭 숙소에서 먹어볼 것 이집트에서 살며 수많은 맛집을 다녀봤지만, 이 숙소 루프탑에서 먹은 식사가 가장 맛있었다. 사막 언덕뷰, 탁 트인 루프탑, 이국적인 카페트와 좌식 테이블 분위기 때문만이 아니라, 음식 하나하나가 전문 셰프가 만든 듯한 맛이다. 향신료도 과하지 않고, 깔끔하고 깊은 풍미. 가격까지 너무 착해서 계산할 때 더 행복했다. 3. 아침 식사는 무조건 숙소에서 먹을 것 전날 사막뷰를 충분히 즐겼다 생각했지만, 고요한 아침 공기의 분위기는 또 다르다. 이집트 전통식으로 구성된 아침 식사는, 내가 그동안 먹어왔던 ‘이집트 음식’이 모두 가짜였다는 것을 깨닫게 했다. 갓 튀긴 병아리콩 튀김이 이렇게 맛있으니, 이 음식이 왜 국민음식인지 이제야 이해했다. 민트티를 주문하면 갓 수확한 민트를 함께 내준다. 우유가 들어간 커피(카페라테)도 꼭 추천한다. 4. 숙소의 아흐메드와 꼭 대화해볼 것 숙소 전반을 책임지는 아흐메드는 5성급 호텔 컨시어지보다도 빠르고 정중하며 배려심이 많다. 선한 인상에 말투까지 부드러워, 그와 대화하다 보면 게스트도 착해지는 기분이다. 좋은 에너지를 가진 사람과의 대화는 그 자체로 여행의 일부가 된다. 5. 피곤해도 ‘저녁 불멍’과 구름 사이로 보이는 달을 꼭 보고 잘 것 캠핑장이 아님에도 불구하고 장작불을 피워주는 아흐메드와 팀 덕분에, 타닥타닥 장작 타는 소리, 고요한 밤의 새소리, 강가에서 들리는 여행객들의 노랫소리가 은은하게 섞여 캠핑 분위기를 충분히 즐길 수 있다. 달 보며 소원 비는 건 덤. (머쉬멜로우를 가져가면 구워 먹을 수 있다!) 이집트에서 살면서 집을 나설 때부터 돌아오는 길까지, 이보다 멋진 여행은 없었다. 너무 마음에 드는 숙소라 백 번쯤 감탄한 것 같다. 사실 페이윰에서 유명한 고급 글램핑장을 가려다가 풀북이라 대신 이곳을 선택한 건데, 오히려 그곳이 만석이었던 덕분에 ‘노던 레이크 롯지’를 만난 것이 신의 뜻이 아닐까 싶을 만큼 만족스러웠다. 다녀오자마자 또 가고 싶다고 느끼게 되는, 몇 안 되는 소중한 숙소다. 더 많은 사람이 이곳에서 도심의 소음을 내려놓고 휴식과 정화를 경험했으면 한다. 지금 이집트에 꼭 필요한 숙소다. 아 그리고 숙소에 강아지 한마리가 있는데 너무 순하고 사랑스럽다. 손! 하면 손도 내준다ㅋ 아이와 함께 간다면 모래놀이 장난감을 챙겨서 갈 것 --- 🇺🇸 English Review Staying at this lodge felt like using up all the good luck in my life at once — that’s how special and memorable the experience was. If you’re planning to enjoy this place in Fayoum, here are a few tips: 1. On your way from Cairo, make sure to pass through the Desert Protected Area (highly recommended). This desert is incredibly underrated and still untouched by mass tourism, so the silence and vastness feel almost otherworldly — like being on another planet. The entrance fee is only 5 USD, and it is absolutely worth it. 2.

Bardzo fajnie organizowany Camp. Po pierwsze zameldowanie - dokładna lokalizacja przesłana na komunikatorze + osoba czekająca na nasz przyjazd. Na miejscu czyste namioty, przestrzenne. Mieliśmy namiot ze wspólną łazienką, ale to nie problem, bo łazienki są czyste. Obfite śniadania, super chill-outt na tarasie.

I went to Fayoum by myself and from the beginning Ahmed communicated with me and was very helpful all the time. I took the Safari tour with Waleed and spent the best day in the desert. The breakfast was amazing! And Waheeda, the dog walked with me to the lake that it’s just 10 minutes away from the camp. I would love to come back!
