Kyo no Minshuku Ohara no Sato

We wanted to stay in a country side, to enjoy the abundant nature, while staying in a traditional Japanese style inn, and it was perfect! Great location, Friendly staff, who picked us up and dropped us off to the bus station. The Inn had a nice onsen, both indoor & outdoor. The large dining area, where we ate food with other tourists were really nice experience. Food/hot pot were great with variety of miso to choose from. Rooms were larger that we thought; all facing the garden/courtyard. We love totoro, so it was nice to be surrounded by them and listen to calming Ghibli music.

We wish we were able to stay longer. We liked everything they offered - maybe the bathroom was a bit in the smaller size, but it was very clean so it did not really bother us.

Situata in una cittadina tra la montagne, la locanda "Ohara no Sato" offre una tra le più belle esperienze di vita autentica giapponese. Lo staff è amichevole e sempre disponibile per qualsiasi domanda o richiesta. Le stanze hanno la tipica disposizione con il tatami al centro e i futon da disporre. Bella la possibilità di indossare lo yukata, ti immerge ancor di più nell'atmosfera di Tokyo. L'Onsen (separato tra uomini e donne) è perfetto per rilassarsi dopo un lungo viaggio o per recuperare post Jet-lag. Ottima la cena e la colazione tipica, è cibo energetico e salutare. Ho amato la mia esperienza in questo luogo, ha un'atmosfera magica che percepirete appena metterete piede ad Ohara.

窓から見えた桜がとても綺麗でした。 食事がとても美味しかったです。 大食いの方の胃袋が欲しい。と、 願ったぐらい美味しかったです。

Beautiful place and location

Nothing, everything was perfect

The space was very cozy, experiencing "traditional Japan" was nice. Location was very beautiful. The staff helped if you had any questions or needed assistance with anything.

Earlier check in time would have been better. We didn't get to spend much time there because of that, plus everything in the area also closes early. Also later check out as an option would be nice. It was a very short stay sadly since we only did one night. The staff also only knew a little english, the main host gives you a very short/quick tour of everything pointing/saying only 1-2 words, then leaves you to it. I also received an email, "unauthorized third parties may have accessed certain booking information associated with your reservation" after booking this one and only reservation, so that's upsetting too.

L’établissement est très bien situé, même s’il faut prévoir environ 20 minutes de marche après être descendu du bus, avec une montée en partie en montagne. Avec des valises, cela peut être un peu contraignant, mais cela reste faisable en étant préparé. L’accueil est chaleureux et le personnel est agréable, ce qui est très appréciable. En revanche, l’établissement mériterait un rafraîchissement. Certains équipements sont un peu vétustes : poignées de fenêtres fragiles, patères qui se détachent… Cela peut surprendre et gagnerait à être amélioré. Concernant les repas, l’expérience est assez immersive et typique, mais elle peut ne pas convenir à tout le monde. Par exemple, la présence de hareng au petit déjeuner ou des saveurs très traditionnelles à plusieurs repas peut dérouter. Une petite touche plus “universelle”, comme des fruits ou une option sucrée, aurait été appréciée. Dans l’ensemble, c’est une expérience intéressante et dépaysante, mais avec quelques points d’amélioration à prendre en compte.
