Oshi Ryokan

Nice and traditional place, the big family room was spacious and comfortable. The dinner and breakfast were fabulous. Hosts are great: really kind and nice.

Oshi’s Ryokan was beautiful, the traditional Japanese room we stayed in was comfortable and had everything we needed. We had dinner and breakfast and highly recommend anyone staying to have these, the best food we had whilst in Japan, incredibly fresh and delicious. Oshi was the perfect host, extremely kind and helpful, going above and beyond to help. He even gave us a lift to the station on our last day! Everyone’s Japan trip should include a stay here to experience a traditional Japanese Ryokan.

Oshi Ryokan is located directly across from the entrance the lower entrance to Togakushi shrine. The room was spacious, clean, and had a beautiful view. The ryokan is beautifully constructed and gives you the experience of what it is like to stay in a place built with traditional Japanese craftsmanship. The couple that runs the ryokan are very nice and represent the best of Japanese hospitality. My wife and I are both vegan. The hosts were able to accommodate us and cook a fabulous traditional Japanese breakfast made vegan. It was amazing and the best meal we had in Japan so far. Please note that we arranged the meal through a Japanese friend. Our experience here was really great. It far exceeded our expectations. We only stayed one night, I wish we would have been able to stay longer.

The common restroom for men, located next to the reception outside had no heating. Appart from that, everything was good.

The host are incredibly kind and helpful, they welcomed me and made everything to make me feel amazing. The food was excellent 👌🏽 The place is gorgeous and definitely an unique experience.

My wife and I recently had the pleasure of staying at a traditional Japanese Ryokan, and it was truly an unforgettable experience! We were welcomed with warm hospitality by Mr. And Mrs. Oshi, the owners. The serene atmosphere, and the location is a perfect spot to rest after visiting the Togakushi Shrines The room was impeccably clean and simple designed, and stunning view of the surrounding nature. The beds were comfortable and provided a perfect night's sleep. The kaiseki dinner served in the evening was an absolute culinary delight, and breakfast next day was just as enjoyable. Overall, our stay at the Ryokan was a perfect blend of relaxation, tradition, and exceptional service. If you're seeking a truly authentic Japanese experience, we highly recommend staying at a Ryokan!
