It was beautifully maintained.

They let you feel like a royalty. Beginning with welcome, through epic personal kaiseki dinner experience and finishing with personal breakfast room. If you don’t know anything, how to dress, how to eat particular dish, just ask. They will gladly help you and guide you.

Due to fact they treat you like royalty, you are also fully relaint on the staff. Free trespassing in the ryokan is not welcome.

Location for the Snow Monkeys were excellent, the rooms were great size and onsen was excellent.

Was not aware no bath or shower but that’s ok as it own onsen has same, room has bath and basin.

Excellent dinner and breakfast. I thought my rate allowed use of the onsen. But was told No!

Being the only guest in such a lovely Ryokan. Why was this I ask myself??

Exceptional food (both dinner and breakfast - nice they had a western option for breakfast, though we went Japanese and really enjoyed it). Toiletries were also great, as was the bath. A lot more spacious than we were perhaps expecting. Overall an amazing Ryokan experience.

There was a little confusion with the breakfast time (we asked 9, they told us 8, then came to get us at 9). Would've appreciated a little advice on how to wear the kimonos to feel more authentic, as we definitely struggled!

Authentic Japanese. Nice intro to rituals and customs. Very efficient staff. Would return.

Not enough English spoken. More variability with breakfast menu. Should have laundry service available.
