Great caretaker but language barrier makes everything more difficult

Staff was wonderful, food was great, the onsen was welcomed, and the room provided an authentic Japanese experience. It was nice to be so close to the train station and I’ll never forget when the manager sat down and played the piano while we ate dinner.

The building is a little faded but for me that was just part of the experience.

I love this place, retro, quirky, great hospitality!

The hotel is right next to the river and we got a room with river view. It's just 7 min walking to Minakami Station. The hotel has an indoor Onsen with river view. There are places to sit in the lobby, which are comfortable, there is also a piano to play. The staff, Mr Kageyama was extremely friendly and welcoming and we had a great stay. Thank you!

The hotel was a bit cold as it was in winter but turning up the aircon solved it for us.

The hotel is quite near Minakami station, about 5 minute walk. The facility meets my expectation. The owner also provides me with Yukata (and a Hanten because it's cold). The staff can speak English and very friendly. I try the first shared onsen here, this was quite an interesting experience.

The only drawback is you have to use shared toilets. Some guests do not keep this commonplace clean. Sometimes, the wifi is slow because many people are using it. This may cause the foreigner to feel uncomfortable but I live in Japan long enough to know that every Japanese has their own 4G/5G monthly data plan.
