"Beautiful and serene japanese hotel with private baths"

Absolutely recommended if you want to try a real Japanese bath experience in a secluded and beautiful area. Bus from Takayama takes around 90 minutes but it's very very worth it. Along with incredible private baths (2 of them outdoors) you are also served a full course dinner and breakfast carefully prepared by the owners, every single thing was delicious. My only regret was having stayed only 1 night because the surroundings are gorgeous and well worth exploring.

"Wonderful stay at Nakaodaira"

It's a wonderful hotel, everything is very clean and organized with a lot of care and love. They put a lot of effort into their hotel and you feel very welcome. It's a calm athmosphere, perfect to relax and enjoy nature. The forest onsen is beautiful. The two owners are very friendly and the food is absolutely amazing and generous. We can highly recommend and will definitely be back.

Breakfast and Dinner were amazing. Many courses of beautifully cooked and presented traditional Japanese food. It was a joy to be taken slightly out of our comfort zone at breakfast and a memorable culinary experience.

"A gorgeous, quiet, homely mountain oasis"

Lovely, home-like comfort, both physical and intangible. From the decor to the beds to the outside and inside private baths, to the wonderful breakfasts, I felt like the experience was quietly ingeniously crafted to unobtrusively quiet my mind.
