Great location, delicious food and friendly staff.

This has nothing to do with the property, but travelers to this area should be aware as of Aug 21, 2023, the ancient pagoda at Mt Haguro is under repair and cannot be viewed. The rest of the hike to the top is open. Please check this if you are going specifically to see this wonder!

The old owner was very kind and also spoke a bit of English. He gave informations about Dewasanzan temples and the festival. He gave me an umbrella and called the taxi for me. He also let me have a shower after checkout time. The lady was also very kind and her cooking was absolutely fantastic. Their dinner is very delicious.

Great stay for going to the Dewa Sanzan. The couple that manage this hotel was super nice. You can also arrange some typycal japanese meals. Definitely a great stay in Tsuruoka.

The couple that run the place are the nicest people! I visited off-season so I was the only guest. I recommend getting dinner there!

I loved the Japanese authenticity of this ryokan! the staff were so lovely too! the location has a beautiful shrine next to it too!

there wasn’t any supermarkets close by. the closest was a 45 min walk or 10 min bus journey! this didn’t affect my stay! I loved staying here and I didn’t mind walking to get food! if I was to book again I’d ask for food included! it is great!

The ryokan is located near mont dewa which is a great place to visit. Our host was very welcoming and helpful. There hospitality was amazing and they even offered us something to eat!.
