Riad Matins De Marrakech

Staff were very friendly and helpful from the minute we got there, they recommended places to eat, visit, gave directions and provided useful info like locations of trusted ATMs. On arrival the manager gave us a map and directions of how to get to lots of key places, he also gave us lots of info and history about the area. The room was small but big enough with storage space and beautifully presented, cleaned daily to a great standard. Breakfast was great with different items each day, more than enough food to start your day! The location was great, access by taxi from the airport was easy and local enough to everything else within walking distance.

The only thing was that the walls/ doors were a bit thin so if people were talking in the corridor/ main area you could hear. Could also hear next doors hairdryer in the mornings.

Très bon accueil, le riad est bien placé et les lits sont confortables. Le personnel est très gentil. Très bon petit déjeuner, tres copieux. Mais j'avais pris une chambre avec 2 lits pour ne pas dormir dans le même lit que mon fils, et bien le petit lit était très inconfortable... En fait c était un canapé sur lequel ils avaient mis un drap, pas un lit.

Le riad est minuscule, plus petit qu en photo. Le petit lit très inconfortable. Salle de bain minuscule. Le bruit de la ville de la terrasse et aussi de la chambre, je pensais que ça serait plus paisible. On est partis une nuit plus tôt car on voulait du calme. Pas de conseils pour les visites. On aussi été déçu du repas servis le midi le premier jour, déjà le prix était bien plus élevé que la carte envoyée par mail, et le coucous n'était pas très bon.

The location for me was excellent, as I could get there by taxi. So, I didn't have to carry luggage through the medina.

The cleaning ladies who greet you have no way of communicating with you, because they don't know English. I found the staff extremely rude. They also charged me a city tax of 60 dirhams in cash, although they have never charged me this tax anywhere before. At breakfast I asked for coffee and tea, and the gentleman who served me told me that it was either one or the other. The gentleman is really extremely rude. Otherwise, if you want to rest during the day, everyone talks on the phone and among themselves very loudly, as if they were in the room with you.

The location was brilliant, accessible by car, and the Riad itself had a fabulous atmosphere. The staff were so friendly and everything about our stay was so enjoyable, from the breakfast to the lounge spaces and the friendly faces, I’d absolutely recommend Riad Matins to a friend visiting Marrakech! We will especially miss Fafa the cat!
