I enjoy these old-time motels where you can park in front of your room. Unlike many others, this place is clean, quiet and comfortable. And surprise - no broken fixtures, everything worked! Contactless check-in. Ideal base to explore The Real Florida. I will be back. The employees were kind, helpful, professional. THANK YOU!

My husband an myself evacuated because of Hurricane Milton, We booked 2 nights here as everything was sold out in our area.What a disaster,we would have checked out as soon as we saw the room but we had tornado warnings and it was not deemed safe to travel so we reluctantly stayed.Awful stench in the room, no water pressure,filthy curtains, old filthy furniture, parking lot flooded,shingles from the roof all over the parking lot,bolt lock did not work,ants crawling all over the place,we had to ask for xtra pillows and toilet paper, dim lighting in the room, lousy internet,nothing but a pig sty, so awful we checked out early the next morning even though the roads were still deemed unsafe,we took our chances, we had paid for the second night which they quickly took out of our credit card, did not care about the xtra night we paid for we had to leave before we came down with a disease.Manager told us the owners live in Virginia and never come down there,they dont care if the place is neglected,she told us it was a tax write off for them.place needs to be condemed,I am putting a complaint into the health dept.

These people are such liars. They tell you that their rooms are sold out of the cheapest rooms so that you have to pick a more expensive room and they aren't there 90% of the time. No one stays there. If you have a service dog, they charge you $50. Very old and rude.

My husband and I were in town for my granddaughter's Graduation. We are retired and our budget could not afford the other high priced Hotels. We thankful to find Pennwood. The landscape is very nice and the pool was very nice too. The room was nice and no unpleasant odors, very clean! Cindy at the front desk, so sweet, and gave us a very warm and friendly welcome. Yes, I would recommend for a clean, comfortable and reasonably cost to stay. Thanks Cindy!

I stayed there while I was in the area going fishing, the manager charged me extra because I was towing a little boat, no hot water, no water pressure. I called at 9:30 the next morning to tell them I was checking out, no hot water, left message, when I stopped by Pennwood motor lodge on my way out of town, to discuss about no hot water, the Rude blonde lady got told me to get out of the front desk office or she was calling the police, I said what, she then said she was charging me for the next day she didn't get my message, told me she didn't care I didn't have hot water she was charging me full price anyway, get out of my office/ front desk. Never stay there, that's the rudest lady I have ever met let alone in the hotel business.

This place is horrible. The service was horrible! The pool was green and disgusting!! The website says $10 a day for a pet but they wanted to charge us $50 a day for a Dotson. There was ants (I assume sugar ants) crawling all over the place while trying to fill out paperwork. The front desk lady had a disgusting attitude. The room had roaches and spiders sitting in cob webs. It was just over all horrible. The lady in the front office acts like a stuck up pig 🐖 that has no class, respect or manners! This place is pittiful! I bet it was ran better in the 80's!

We had a great stay for an excellent value (great price for being 5 minute drive to the beach). This place is under new management and doing major upgrading. I stayed here with my family (including young child and little dog) for a long visit to Sebastian. This is a very retro ,old-Florida style motel that has recently undergone some major changes for the better. I will admit that when I saw the old, worn out sign, I wasn't expecting much, but was pleasantly surprised when I saw the room. The grounds were beautiful, nice pool area, but not heated. They were in the process of re-modeling the rooms while we were there, and had recently changed management. Kelly and Kim in the office were very friendly and helpful. You can tell that back in the day, this place must have been happening, but the motel had apparently gone down hill for some years. The new management have been working hard to clean the place up, and had recently got rid of all the "riff raff". They did a good job, it was very quiet the whole time we were there. It is on a busy street so you do get the usual street noise, and there is also a train that runs quite a bit close by, but with the A.C. going ,and our white noise machine on which we always travel with , we all slept just fine. This place is not fancy, but it's cute and comfortable, and is just a 5 minute drive to the beautiful, Wabasso beach! Great value for the price, I think with al! work they are doing upgrading the place, it will be even better next time we come , and we will definitely be back. Our room had a kitchenette with big refrigerator and stove, and 2 very comfortable beds. It was decorated very modern, simple and nice, and while the bathroom was showing its age, it was efficient and clean. The housekeepers were very friendly and attentive. Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay at the "New &improved" Pennwood motor lodge!

The grounds are beautiful, the rooms are no frills but clean and serviceable. Comfortable bed, nice to have the microwave and small refrigerator. Good location. That said, the management leaves much to be desired. Management becomes involved in their tenants personal lives, makes unfounded accusations, allows drug addicts to remain, calls law enforcement with false accusations, kicks tenants out for a minor infraction AND does not refund any monies. So unfortunate the owners of the motor lodge allow such unprofessional, evil management. A word to the owners, please hire professional, knowledgeable managers who do not arbitrarily ban tenants due to personal dislike and selective enforcement of "rules".

We enjoyed are stay here very much. Room was very clean. Hotel is older could use some up dating. Staff was friendly and always working. Under new management and she seems to be trying very hard to turn things around. The pool is very nice, but it will be closing soon for a all New pool. We stayed 2 weeks, I'm very picking about where I stay. Clean is a must!. Planning on returning later in the year. Only thing we did not like was 2 of the quest has dogs and would have them outside with no leash. All dogs should be on a leash at all times, not all people like strange dogs coming up to them.

There was no warning that the pool is down for an undetermined amount of time and AFTER we checked in and found out they refused a refund that we needed to go find another hotel to spend our week of vacation at. We came for the pool....such a conn
