Whitianga Motel

Less than a minute walk to some eateries and the river with playground, a few minutes' walk to the beach and main town. Roomy unit, thoughtful extras, easy parking, friendly cleaning staff.

Could possibly have had better lighting in the bathroom but not a big deal.

This will be our first choice next time we come back to Whitianga!

Well located, close to the town Centre, shops, beach and passenger ferry

Great location. Walking distance to tavern, cafe's, Wharf, beach, shops, walking path. Older accommodation but clean and functional.

Good price for five people. Two rooms. They changed my stay date at no extra charge. Very good communications. Overall, it was a very nice stay.

Overall, the motel is quite old. This is reflected in the price.

This motel is pretty old-school so don't book it if you expect something fancy and modern. But if you're looking for somewhere comfortable and friendly in a good spot, this is it. It's maybe 2 minutes' walk to the beach and less than 5 minutes to the main shopping strip. It was also quite spacious - I've lived in smaller one-bedroom apartments before! My interaction with staff and other guests was great (but if you check your phone in advance of arriving you may not even need to interact with staff - I missed a text giving me details for self-check-in, and the staff member I dealt with was very nice about it!). There's a real personal touch - I loved that the binder of advice about the local area gave personal opinions and suggestions about what to order at each place. Plus they have arrangements with some local venues so that motel guests get a discount.

There aren't many power points, so if you need to charge a lot of devices BYO power board
