Sturdy`s Castle - Historic Coaching Inn near Blenheim Palace, Oxfordshire

Easy to find "hotel", more akin to a pub/restaurant with a detached block of rooms. Good size room with en suite shower room/wc, (first time in a long while that a bathroom did not show signs of mould). Food was of a good standard with a reasonable menu, Sunday was roast option, Monday choice of English or Indian cuisine. Breakfast was well presented with a variety of cereals and hot options.

Dinner was excellent and overall the stay represented very good value for money. Thank You.

Friendly staff. Lovely accommodation. The food was exceptional. Possibly some of the best Indian food I've ever had. The chicken 65 and Lamb Saag... Wow

Room could have been warmer. Big gap under the door! But it had a comfy bed and everything needed.

Rooms are in a separate building to the dining/pub area, so no noise coming from them. Didn't hear my neighbors, so either the walls are good or they were just quiet. The bathroom was finished to a high standard, and the features & fittings throughout gave a cosy but modern feel at a bargain price. I personally like how the rooms open directly to the outside rather than to an internal corridor, as they're far less likelihood of inconsiderate people nattering in the corridors. Made the room feel a little more isolated, which I appreciate. I was offered a reasonably priced Breakfast & Dinner, which I declined, but would have been very convenient if I'd needed them.

I couldn't get the TV to work. There was only one (Sky) remote. Eventually got it to turn on and change to the Sky feed by playing with the button on the bottom of the TV, however even then I could not get the sound on. Not a problem for me as I didn't actually want to watch the TV, but for most people this may be an issue.

Lovely pub. Great breakfast, good choice for gluten free and even had oat milk.

Old water system was noisy when people upstairs flushed the toilet - even in the night was groany snd loud

It was near Blenheim Palace. It was clean and quiet. Superb breakfast 🙂

Room was a little tired looking, but was amazing value for the money and was clean.
