Basic but functional.

The shepherd's hut is well thought out, with everything that you need for a comfortable stay - the beds are super-comfy! . The addition of the kettle, toaster and microwave and all crockery was really helpful for making breakfast. We loved the chickens and dogs coming to visit us in the morning too!

Nothing really - I guess if we were coming back we'd probably do it in the warmer weather but nothing you can really do about that.

Lovely comfortable shepards hut to crash out in after a hard day's hiking in the mountains. On a pretty working farm with great views. The farms dog and hens came over and said hello!

Facilities - the shower door was coming off, meaning water was leaking on the floor. Mattresses were not comfortable and need to be replaced. My one was very soft in the middle, and impossible to get comfortable. Proper plates and cutlery would have been nice. Not chunky plastic children's ones. Also no sink to wash the dishes, or washing up liquid/dish cloth. There was no small fridge or UHT milk provided. The owner opened the front door a few times. It was me that waved and shouted hello. They never once came over to check if we needed anything or just to say hello/welcome. Seemed unfriendly and almost annoyed that we were there. The place is not expensive, but poor facilities mean the price is too high. My Son became a bit unwell on the 2nd day with a bug so we ended up leaving early.

If eating or relaxing in the hut the seating on the bunk beds with a the location of the ladder was awkward.

Location was excellent.

The pillows needed a wash, there was remnants of someone else’s hair inside the pillow case. A few garden chairs to sit outside perhaps. Dogs mess around the bathroom hut and outside our hut.

The whole shared bathroom was dirty. Rubbish bin was full. No hot water in the sink. So we just use the shower head to wash ourselves in the morning. Mattresses were worn out so uncomfortable sleep. Duvets were worn out. No plumbing in the hut. Water came in a container. No washing up facilities inside the hut. Didn't see any washing up bowl, so we made sure we drank from the same mug. We didn't eat in the hut so cannot comment on cutleries and plates etc. Place was warm and clean. Top bunks have very little head space so should only be used by children or short persons as this is the shape of the hut. Not the owner's fault. Suggestions: Bring your own sleeping bags. Bring a mattress topper. Eat out.
