Great view of Franz Joseph glacier from our unit. Great concept but for us lacked execution

Wouldn’t recommend if you’re tall or have mobility problems. (Like us) Ceiling rake in bedroom meant we kept hitting our heads on ceiling and couldn’t read in bed. Mattress and pillows were overdue to be replaced. Stairs were narrow and steep especially if you’re wearing sox because the owners requested no shoes in unit. No space to put luggage (too hard to take upstairs) Lounge was comfortable but too low and hard for us to get out of. Fridge was too small No microwave Shower rose was too low ( yes I’m 182cm tall) Blow heater??? on the bathroom wall didn’t blow warm/hot air. Bathroom exhaust fan sounded like a tractor Needs a step from front patio to the ground (if you have mobility problems)

We loved the peaceful retreat you have created at Kahere. The sauna and hottub were such a nice touch.

Beds are upstairs, toilet is downstairs. Unpleasant stairs in between.

Quiet and nice views. Nice balcony and covered exterior area at the back. Good parking. Never saw the owners but all instructions were clear

Stairs to bedroom were narrow and very steep. Bathroom was downstairs so had to be careful going to the toilet at night. Lounge area inside was small

Very cute little chalet just outside of Franz Josef. Decently convenient to town but also peaceful. Comfortable enough and well laid out.

We had a few minor issues with the property. First, many people mention the stairs which are a bit precarious. I do think just installing a night light would go a long way, especially for anyone who needs to use the loo at night. We also found the shower style a bit uncomfortable on the feet with sort of pebbles/ stone as the base of the shower but this was personal preference. We do wish there had been curtains across all windows or a way to get from the shower back up to the bedroom without risking neighbours getting an eyeful. The bedroom itself was comfortable, but did get a bit hot. The aircon worked well downstairs (though it was dripping) but it just didn’t do much for heat in the room. Finally, it would’ve been nice to have decaf coffee/ pregnancy friendly herbal teas like peppermint or ginger, but sadly did not see any in the chalet.
