Nice location. Between for me the most beautiful beaches at the pacific. Playa Minas and playa conchal! Better to have a car! I was a solo traveller so felt more safe. Also super comfy bed. Big shower. Lots of space

The villa that was assigned to us was very well equipped, we were welcomed with a big smile and we were informed of the nearby beaches (spectacular to spend the day and watch the sunset).

The access to the place was under repair, however there were no major mishaps.

Beautiful setting, nice pool (when not crowded with other guests playing music); some rooms had been newly-renovated, others had multiple beds (good for families); our villa had a functional kitchen (barbeque had an empty propane tank) and basics like cooking oil, salt and pepper were provided after we asked. The property is about a 15-minute walk to the nearest beach.

One room had no windows, one room had an A/C unit that was so loud it was impossible to sleep. The weekend we were there, both a bachelorette party and a large family reunion were taking place in other units. For guests who don't speak Spanish, note that the family that owns the place lives in San Jose and the on-site manager doesn't speak English.

Excellent location right beside a national reserve park (jungle). Animals came during the night and were not shy to show themselves in our open air kitchen. Pizotes, racoons, monkeys, white squirrels and a crab made an appearance. Five minutes (by car) away from a beautiful beach, in which you can walk safely some 100 meters into the sea and the water barely reaches your chest. 10 minutes from Conchal beach walking along said beach. Staff was super helpful and friendly, Lizet treated us like princes and Andres treated us like kings. Cannot be more satisfied. If you are coming with a bug group, ask for the white house, which boasts a private 12 person pool/jacuzzi. It’s four hours from Alajuela, get a 4x4 if you are coming during the rainy season. Buy groceries to cook your meals, it’s cheaper, faster and more convenient. There is a fully stocked kitchen, pots, pans, dishes, cutlery, microwave, gas range, gas grill, two full fridges and a free standing freezer, toaster oven, coffee maker (with filters), etc. Rocking chairs, a big family table, chairs and a hammock. If you need something else Lizet or Andres will get it for you. You get your own entrance and parking place. Don’t go by bus. You need a car.

There was a faint moisture odour, but let’s face it… it’s the jungle. What did you expect?

location was close to what we wanted to do. Was clean and our host was friendly and helpful with local beach recommendations.

The outdoor covered terrace and kitchen were roomy and very comfortable for our group of four. The kitchen was well-equipped and the hammocks excellent for rainy afternoons. One of the king size beds was extremely comfortable, the other just ok. Bathrooms were a good size. The pool was very clean. We saw lots of iguanas and howler monkeys nearby, and on our last day a small troop of monkeys passed right by our terrace.

We stayed in Casa Amarilla and the three bedrooms all had exterior entrances wrapping around the circular shape of the building. As a family with two elementary age kids, we took a 3-bed villa to allow everyone a little extra space but ended up not using all three bedrooms because it didn’t feel safe for each child to be alone in a bedroom. The a/c unit in our adult bedroom was so loud that there was no way we would have heard our kids if there was a problem in the night. I was disappointed in this layout, which wasn’t made explicit in the listing, and attempted to switch to a smaller (cheaper) casa but the owner, Andres, didn’t respond to my email with request. the pool is very deep with essentially no shallow end — only good for independent swimmers.
