Very clean and very welcoming!

Just a few steps and you are away from all the tourists. The room was like being at home. My wife is OCD and this place was cleaner than my house.

Didn't need a thing changed.

The owner is very involved. It’s quiet, right at the foot of Garden of the Gods. It’s spotlessly clean, while cute, it’s also uniquely furnished. The bed was extremely comfortable and so was the pillow. I would stay there again. We walked to a nearby diner for breakfast, and were happy. It’s privately owned, has been updated but is very much cared for. I’d stay there again without a doubt while in Manitou.

What a hidden gem, don't let the low stars fool you, unless you care about having a pool (which I don't) this is a 5 Star Motel. The owner is all hands on deck and takes great pride in what she does, she is very welcoming, super hard working, and amazingly accommodating. Location is perfect, tucked away from the hustle and bustle so you can relax and unwind just knowing everything is only a few minutes away when you are ready to venture back out to play and/or explore. I felt we got off to a rough start after camping for a couple days and sleeping on a mattress with a slow leak in a little tent, by the time we arrived we were half out of it and ready for some real rest. The office is small with room enough for one check in at a time, we were waiting outside so as to give space for the owner to tend to her check in, I was goofing off and know I may have sounded rude, the window was open and I was overheard sounding impatient, it was embarrassing because I know how it sounded. It was one of those moments when you feel like your foot is in your mouth, the owner kindly let us know through the window that she would be right with us. It gets better. (Keep this in mind, after 12 years of working in the Pest Control field as an inspector, I have been OCD about checking every bed before getting in, trust me when I say I have seen some things, I check any bed any where.) The owner gives you her 100% attention when checking you in, she is so welcoming to her guests, she walks you to your room, informs you of all the local Hotspot, transportation, amenities available here and around you and so forth. She walks us to our room, I have flashlight in hand and begin inspecting the bed right in front of her, I am figuring if I find anything we will be able to get a different room because there would be no argument, when in reality I am quite sure I just absolutely insulted her. Oh boy, I had both feet in my mouth.

Nothing to complain about.

It is well kept for as old of property it is.

WiFi & TV Services are not up to par. Really turned off by the bedding being hung outside over the dirty, dusty railings to dry. Really turned off my the management. The other reviews are understandable. They are initially very nice. Then you realize the extreme micromanaging of the property, watching your every move. They come into your room and touch things which is a turn off. I was going to not say anything and just be glad to check out until I heard the owner speak to a staff member. She certainly wasn’t nice to him and spoke down to him and was demeaning. Would not come back.
