Umeoka Ryokan

Very traditional Ryokan that exceeded expectations; Onsen, traditional breakfast, and yukata to wear were all a great experiences. Location was fantastic, close to restaurants and public transport. Staff were always willing to help, very friendly and extremely welcoming.

The bathroom and changing area were a little bit cluttered. The room was quite bright due to a street light right outside the room.

A cool little ryokan in Nagano. I wanted a traditional Japanese stay, and that's exactly what we got. Tatami mats, slippers, a really hot onsen. It was a very nice place. There are many small bars and restaurants nearby so you have plenty of options. Also, at the entrance they have "Welcome" in various languages. I thought it was cool that they had it in Irish! Pretty wild to see the Irish language in such a traditional hotel in Japan.

It was my first time in a Japanese onsen - it was almost too hot!
