Daitokuji Sushicho

Die Gastgeber sind unglaublich freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das japanische Frühstück der beiden ist eine Wucht und hat uns sehr gefreut. Wir hatten auch einmal ein Abendessen, das außerordentlich gut war. Es stand dem 2 Sterne Koch den wir auch besucht haben in nichts nach!! Unbedingt ausprobieren!!! Das Haus ist über 100 Jahre alt und wir wollten dringend japanisch wohnen. Das durften wir hier :-) vielen Dank!!

Naja...es ist ein bisschen weit ab vom Geschehen. Mit Uber/Taxi 20 bis 30 Minuten. Dafür aber ruhig und nahe dem Goldenen Tempel. Die Ausstattung ist schlicht aber funktional. Man sitzt natürlich auf dem Boden! ;-)

Amazing multi course meals for breakfast and dinner each day (the sushi is truly exceptional and the best food we had on our trip), super comfortable and spacious living area (the sauna / bathtub room was wonderful and so relaxing), and warm and enjoyable conversations with our hosts and a drive to and walk around the bamboo forest where local history was shared, made this an unforgettable experience on our trip!

The couple who ran the bed and breakfast like inn were warm and accommodating. Since you are staying in their home, it felt like you were staying with a great uncle. There was ample space for the four of us. The owner drove us to the train station in the morning and to lunch.

Food is traditional Japanese dinner and breakfast that my family had a difficult time stomaching. Be prepared to be staying in someone’s home.

Staying here felt much more like being welcomed into someone’s home than checking into a hotel. The atmosphere was warm, genuine, humorous and deeply personal – something that is incredibly rare to find. The dinner was simply outstanding. Satoshi is an exceptional sushi chef, and every dish reflected his decades of experience, precision, and passion. It was not just a meal, but a thoughtfully curated journey through Japanese cuisine – without a doubt one of the most memorable dining experiences we have ever had. What made our stay even more special was the early morning tour. Being personally guided to the bamboo forest and surrounding areas before the crowds arrived was something we would never have experienced on our own. Seeing these places in such peace and quiet gave them an entirely different, almost magical atmosphere. Above all, we would like to thank Satoshi and his wife for their incredible hospitality. The way they welcomed us, took care of every detail, and shared their home and culture with us was truly special and deeply appreciated. This experience will stay with us for a very long time, and we would recommend it to anyone looking for something authentic, personal, and far beyond the usual hotel stay.

Some say it’s a bit outside the crowded area of Tokyo with its night life and pulsing atmosphere. While we felt this being the magic of this part of the town, as you get to see a second, very beautiful face of this amazing city. Nothing to take away of any of the 11 out of 10 ranking points.

The dinner was an experience. Satoshi is an outstanding sushi chef and besides an incredible dinner and breakfast, we were treated to a comfortable room, bath, and a ride to the bamboo forest in the morning. It felt warm and welcoming and the entire family had a wonderful time.
