A great historic property. The perfect spot for an authentic Japanese experience.

A bit out of the way, but not a bad walk from the train station.

The authenticity of the space.

This place is so-called authentic, but doesn't suit the basic needs of a western familly. Quality of matrasses on the floor, limited electrical current, poor A/C, and rather noisy when raining (not easy to fall asleep).

The building had amazing history. I felt very welcome the entire time.

The rain was loud but I expected as much with an older building. Even that was hardly an issue.

I liked that it was an authentic and traditional style Japanese house.

They don't take care of guests well. They didn't provide basic things like soap in the bathroom or heating for the bathing room. And in the main room there is a huge beam seperating the two rooms. 4 out 5 guys that were there have hit our heads on it. There is no protection on it or even a warning. Also the futons were very thin almost like sleeping on the floor. It would be fine if it was half the price we paid but for this price, not worth it.

This is a very authentic and unique place to stay. It’s basically a 2 floor house. Great Japanese tub bath. The host was very helpful and the location great for getting around. We loved it!

While you have to accept this is an old house, the toilet area needed some updating and the windows very draughty although I suspect a bonus in summer. The electricity needed work and the stairs very steep. Fine for us but would be tricky for older guests or children. While the place can accommodate 6 people it wasn’t good value for money for 2 people bearing in mind the condition of facilities.

Manager was very welcoming and helpful. Plenty of room to move around. Fridge, microwave, split (a/c and heat), water heater with coffee & tea. Plenty of blankets, pillows, towels. Private small wooden Ofuro (hot bath tub).

Sleeping and living space upstairs, but hot water and sink for washing was downstairs. Narrow and steep stairs.
