Shiki Resort Hakone Style

This is a very traditional ryokan - proper Japanese countryside experience. The onsens are lovely, but a shame that they can't be used at any time. We really enjoyed the authentic Japanese dinner too. Loved the tatami mat room and traditional Japanese futons which made for a nice experience. Everything was very clean.

This is a very rural location with not much else around at all. You can't just pop to a shop or out for dinner without a lot of effort. There are a lot of rules at this hotel which was slightly overwhelming and a little off putting as a first impression. There was only one member of staff the whole time we were there - she was very nice but just felt like quite a sad situation for her. As mentioned in other reviews, if you don't like the dinner served, there is nothing else available - a vending machine with instant noodles and snacks would have been really appreciated. It is a lovely big, spacious building but it was so quiet with only one staff member and a few guests - in some ways this was nice, but it also made for a strange, eerie atmosphere. We spent 2 nights and I don't think we could've stayed any longer than that, sadly.

Top razgled iz sobe! Mi smo bili z rent a car, zato je bila tudi lokacija odlična. Sicer smo želeli z avtom do Owakudani, vendar je bila prevelika gneča na cesti, zato smo šli z gondolo, ki pa je bila draga. Izkoristili smo onsen, ki je ločen posebej za moške in ženske. Voda je precej vroča, ampak se paše segret. Zelo lep je zunanji onsen. Futon si je potrebno sestaviti sam.

Hrana je bila nam zanič. Sicer smo že na review-u prebrali, da je, ampak smo vseeno mislili, da bo vsaj večerja dobra. Pa je bila ogabna. Je pa res, da nismo ljubitelji ribje hrane. Pred prihodom smo pisali nastanitvi, če lahko dobimo kontinentalni zajtrk, vendar strežejo samo ribjega - japonskega. Sicer pa hrana zelo lepo postrežena. Osebje slabo govori angleško.

The location for views of Mt Fuji was excellent. The rooms and facilities were very clean. It was very quiet so even though the Onsen bath was shared, I only encountered someone else on one occasion over 4 visits to the bath area

There only seemed to be one staff member working in the whole resort, doing everything, eg. reception, meals and general service. Upon check in (which we arrived early for but were told had to wait until check in time at 4pm) we asked if we could book for dinner that evening but were told it would not be possible with no real explanation why. We asked where we could go nearby and the staff member said there wasn’t really anything close by (which was not entirely true but close). We decided to go down to Togendai to find dinner, we went to the nearest bus stop to get there and we found out the hard way that our Hakone free passes didn’t work on that bus and there was confusion about using our Suica too but we got through that and found there were a few restaurants open to eat and had dinner. Will also not there is no real convenience stores within an easy walking distance(there is but it was unstaffed honesty type system place and had no stock) Getting back to the accom at night from Togendai proved difficult so we decided to walk which would not recommend as it’s all uphill and there is no lighting along the way at all. Breakfast was included but it was not the best but also not the worst.

服務人員不多，但服務體驗很不錯。湖景房其實看不太到湖，但是看看滿滿的富士山，更開心。

The room was spacious, clean, and tidy. Unfortunately, due to the weather, we couldn’t see Mount Fuji, but the view was still wonderful. The Ubako ropeway station is just a 5-minute walk from the hotel. Dinner is served from 7 p.m.; we arrived at 8 p.m. but still enjoyed it fully. There are no shops nearby, but the area is very peaceful. The onsen was excellent, with both indoor and outdoor baths. We had a truly relaxing stay at the hotel.

Breakfast is traditional only, which may feel unusual for Europeans and might not be enough for some.

Sehr angenehme, entspannende Atmosphäre. Geräumiges Zimmer im japanischen Stil, mit Ausblick auf den See und Fuji, herrlich! Morgens und abends im Onsen baden und das leckere Essen genießen. Das war pure Erholung für uns!

Le calme et l'emplacement. Attention le bus est à 15min à pied et le telepherique ferme à 16h45...

Le personnel ne voulait pas nous garder nos valises avant 16h. Nous avons dû insister et ils ont fair une exception... Nous voulions manger sur place pour le dîner et nous avons demandé à midi et ce n'était pas possible
