The hotel is located in a small village right by the mountains. The really nice feature is the onsen area uphill: you enter a small ropeway to go up (and down). From the baths (partly new!) you have a great mountain view. Food was nice with plenty of choices, dinner partly and breakfast completely buffet style. The dining hall as also a small seating area outside. The whole building is maintained but is pretty old, as you can see here and there.

Room size is good. Staff is professional. Outdoor onsen has very beautiful view.

Food was ok, not exceptional. The cable car to the outdoor onsen was down for a long maintenance, they provided a shuttle bus to ferry guests up and down, otherwise it was a 5-10 min walk. We were late for breakfast because the bus didn't come for us, after a 30 minutes wait we walked down ourselves.

Kaiseiki dinner and buffet breakfast were excellent! Love the spread and variety! Love the additional touch of welcome drinks, snacks and choice of toiletries for onsen.

Outdoor onsen was not what i imagined to be. No outdoor view and water not hot enough. Fun to take the tram up to onsen place though
