"An amazing, stylish hotel with fantastic rooms."

The most amazing, stylish hotel. Situated in an old spa/onsen village on the edge of Matsumoto city. The food is fantastic. There are lovely walks and some great traditional restaurants near by. Matsumoto is a 20 minute taxi ride away and worth a visit. We had a very relaxing time. Loved it

Our stay at Matsumoto Jujo was nothing short of exceptional. The property is beautifully designed, sophisticated, and thoughtfully curated in every detail. What makes it truly special is how seamlessly it harmonizes with the surrounding town and local culture. Rather than feeling isolated from its environment, the hotel invites guests to experience and appreciate the character of the entire area. One of the highlights was the incredible collection of books throughout the property. We found ourselves constantly discovering new titles, sitting down to read “just for a moment,” and then realizing that hours had passed. It created a rare sense of fulfillment and calm that is difficult to find in modern travel. Every space felt intentional, comfortable, and inspiring. Matsumoto Jujo is far more than just a place to stay—it is a destination that enriches your time, your thoughts, and your connection to the local community. Without a doubt, this was one of the most memorable stays we have had in Japan. I cannot recommend Matsumoto Jujo highly enough to anyone seeking a unique, thoughtful, and deeply rewarding travel experience.

"True luxury in the most understated and nice way"

Beautiful design hotel keeping the luxurious feel close to the cultural heritage of the place. True farm and forest to table experience with local produce and attention to detail. I loved my room and the yakata designs, the no tv concept and the amenities, an onsen for yourself is a real treat and the coffee shop is just perfection ….highly recommended

It is far from the city tourist attractions so I would have liked a shuttle service to and from the hotel rather than taxis
