Yamadaya Hotel

Utrolig god udsigt fra værelset. Gratis adgang efter aftale til de 2 private onsen på toppen af hotellet med udsigt til Mt. Fuji. Vi nåede at benytte dem 3 gange en halv time det døgn vi var der. Flot, stort, varieret og spændende aftensmad inkluderet i vores ophold, ligeledes en meget god morgenmad.

Hotellet bærer lidt præg af at have været brugt i mange år. Tapetet lidt slidt/løst enkelte steder og noget af træværket der lidt træt ud. I nogen grad bidrager det dog også til charmen ved dette skønne lille hotel.

Das Onsenbad mit Blick auf dem Fuji auf dem Dach. Das Essen war grandios. Das Personal war sehr hilfreich. Wir hatten das Personal erzählt, das wir ein Schal im Bus auf dem Hinweg vergessen hatten. Die habe sofort reagiert und den Busbetreiber angerufen. Ruhige Gegend.

The receptionists were very friendly and accommodating. Everything we need is there. There is a lake right in front the hotel. We woke at 6am to catch the full view of Mt. Fuji.

露天風呂からの景色。富士山、精進湖を一望できます。野生の鹿とも遭遇。食事も美味しく、全体的に落ち着いている。

食事の内容の説明があればなお良い。夜は施錠される時間が早い。一階露天風呂のガソリンの匂いが多少気になる。

HIDDEN GEM! Our stay in Yamadaya Hotel in Fujikawaguchiko was our favorite part of our trip to Japan, bar none!!! This family-run ryokan was so well organized. Nestled between a forested area and Lake Shojiko, Yamadaya Hotel is a must-stay place for anyone!!! This is an amazing place to get away from the crowds, and enjoy the splendor of Japan’s natural wonders. Pros: Breathtaking/photogenic views, cozy/traditional accommodations, fantastic food, CLEAN, great facilities, easy booking, onsens indoor and outdoor/open-air. Cons: Travel via various buses and/or taxi, and trains to get there from Tokyo. Plan your commute carefully or rent a car! Careful of ticks, spiders, and mosquitos in the area. Weather isn’t always clear to view Fuji-san. Spa/Onsen: For those looking specifically for onsen/public bathing experience, YH has separate bathing for men and women. Indoor and outdoor is available on the bottom floor and is a shared space among genders. Yukatas are provided. Your room will have its own private toilet and sink, however, bathing/showering areas themselves are shared. You can also book a private 30 min bathing time and onsen upon check-in at the desk, not before (I.e. at the time of booking). Private time slots are first-come, first-serve. The private booking bathing area is located on the top floor and is open-air. Recommend you book an onsen time when there’s light (day or evening) to get the best views. Food: Highly recommend purchasing the breakfast and dinner plans when prompted at check-in!! They consist of traditional Japanese cuisine and are generous servings. Cafes and outdoor rental equipment are available nearby. Ice cream is available for purchase in the small souvenir shop located in YH’s lobby. The proprietors put so much care and consideration to make your stay comfortable and memorable!!! We loved our stay and hope to visit again!!!

Incredibly friendly and helpful personnel! Tasty japanese breakfast and free parking. The onsen was incredible, we also received yukatas that we cloud use. The room was traditional and had stunning Mount Fuji view. Definitely recommend!

The place is very clean, but you can also see its age, especially in the bathroom. It didn't bother us though, only added to the overall charm :)

If you're a fan of Showa era gold then consider this hotel with unbeatable views of Fuji-san over Lake Shōji. In a quieter area of the Mt. Fuji area, its location provides easy access by car to all of the local attractions.

The facilities certainly have a well-worn patina but are well kept overall.
