"A memorable stay with stunning views of Mt Fuji, but some aspects didn’t quite meet expectations."

We had a great experience staying at a traditional Japanese ryokan here. The view of Mt Fuji and Lake Shoji was absolutely stunning on a clear day. Yukata robes were provided, which was a nice touch for photos. You can book a private onsen (30 minutes per slot daily), or use the public onsen (no booking required). There’s the option to hike the Panorama-dai track nearby or simply enjoy a walk around the lake.

The furnishings and amenities were quite outdated. Dinner felt special but was overpriced and below expectations in terms of quality. The futon wasn't very comfortable, though that might just be us not being used to it. Public transport was infrequent, and there wasn’t much to do nearby, especially on rainy days.
