The in-house onsen was good quality.

The staff was quite bad at communication. 2 examples come to mind: we were running slightly late and for the 19:00 dinner, notified them 3 hours early and they had zero flexibility on this and were unable to leave any food whatsoever. I understand ryokan policy, so this would have been fine until… …we’d requested 8:15am breakfast and they showed up 15 minutes *early* and entered the room without permission, even after I yelled “少々お待ちください!” They continued entering the room and very much startled my partner who was not at all ready. As they finished they loudly reminded us, “checkout is at 10, so pack up your bags now!” Thanks for that. Very omotenashi. Don’t deny slightly late dinner only to barge into someone’s bedroom early. If you’re going to be a stickler for timing, you better get it correct.

It was amazing with great view to the beach. The hot spring tub in the balcony of the room very romantic. Staff was exceptionally friendly. The meals were not just food but a culinary experience an immersion into Japanese culture. It was pure art and a rainbow on the sky of my mouth :)

The in room private onsen, kaiseki meals, and staff were all wonderful. We brought our 8 month old and the staff were all so sweet and accommodating. They even brought a diaper waste basket for the room.

The exterior is dated and the futons for the tatami mats are thin.

The location is amazing, even as a first time traveler to Japan I was able to navigate the transit system and arrive by train/bus. The staff was incredibly friendly and made me feel at home. The hot springs were perfect for relaxing, the food was spectacular. I only stayed here 2 nights, but wished I would have booked longer!

The view from the room and the balcony is stunning. Staff are very nice and helpful. The food was delicious! Most important point: it's barrier free! There is not so many accessible hotels in Izu so I appreciate Arujisu services.

It looks quite old and worn out from outside, but it’s very clean and tidy inside. It’s right next to the beach so it’s very convenient if you like swimming. The staff there are all very nice and friendly. They’ll try their very best to introduce the hotel to you in English. The dinner and breakfast are excellent. We got abalone and crab and sashimi for dinner. They’re very fresh and tasty. I’ll definitely come back.

outside where tub is many bugs. nice if they sweep out bugs before guests use outdoor area .there were ants, beetles, spiders all over.
