Kannawaso

It’s a charming small Ryokan with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The owner is incredibly kind and supportive, even though we don’t share the same language. We booked our stay including dinner and breakfast, and both meals were local specialties – authentic, beautifully prepared, and absolutely delicious.

It was interesting experience to feel what does it mean to stay in ryokan.

It was hard for us to sit on the floor while eating as we were not used to it.

There is a curfew after 23:00 and the bathing facilities has a mildly confusing system

Really great accommodation, offering private bathing facilities as well as being in an amazing location. Super easy to walk to top tourist locations but also be right in the heart of a lovely town. Highly recommend.

We need to do our own beds.

Great location, close to springs, hells, in a lovely part of town. Able to book out a bath privately so it was great to arrive, go for dinner then relax in the bath before bed. Comfy futon beds. Staff very helpful - we dont speak Japanese but they have key info in English and are good at using Google translate for anything else.

Not a negative but just advice if you've not had a Japanese breakfast before, perhaps just order for one day or when you're there as we found it very big for early in the morning and to have every day!

Dinner was delicious. The lady was very friendly.
