Golden Lion Motel

The night manager was very friendly. The mattress was new and comfortable. The location was on my route. Those were the only positives.

This is an old property. The room looked like it had been recently renovated, but the facility had run out of money. It had an unfinished look. The floor was laminate flooring, improperly installed, with floating spots. They were far from level. The furnishings were as cheap as they could possibly be. It looked like they had been thrown in without any thought to livability. The bathroom door would not stay open. The door trim needed to be painted. The bathtub was so thin that I could not face the shower without rubbing the shower curtain. The soap made my skin itch. No shampoo or conditioner was provided. $150/night for a flop house was way too much to pay, even on Labor Day weekend close to the coast. I think I was charged more than the price I was quoted on Booking.com.

Staff was helpful, fetched extra pillows & towels.

Wifi was 5 mbps

Well, there's not much to tell, except the attendant offered us another room when we refused one because of the smoke odor. And the towels were replaced without request.

Filthy place; the whole building is a fixer, the rear view shows a junkyard. Not much value for the price.

The rooms were fairly clean, the walls and door in the bathroom could have been cleaner.

WiFi was being "updated," unavailable. Smallish, clean room. Dated building but ok.sloping floor, trash can needed to keep bathroom door open.
