Meditasi Bungalows & Villas

The staff, especially the manager, Made, were a positive light on a very disappointing experience. The staff work very hard, are friendly, kind, and keep the grounds very clean and beautiful. The manager (Made) made every attempt to resolve the issues arising and was concerned about the quality of my stay. The ocean view and sunrises were beautiful.

I was unaware I would need to pay cash for the room. Since I was staying over 2 weeks, the sum was significant and finding that much cash was extremely difficult as my international ATM card only worked in a town that was a 75-minute drive away. As a solo female traveler, I did not feel safe trying to get this much cash at once (ATM limits required multiple withdrawals to get the amount I needed---literally walking away with a bag of money) and then driving a moped back (or take a taxi) without being robbed or attacked. I attempted a wire transfer and gave the owner evidence of the transfer and a tracking number to locate it. During my stay, while I waited for the wire transfer to go through, the owner was constantly asking me about the payment, why it had not arrived, how was I going to pay, etc. When I reminded him he could contact his bank to locate the transfer and get information on its arrival time, he refused, telling me I needed to go to his bank to find out where the money was. The day before I was to leave, the owner finally agreed to go to his bank WITH me (at the urging of the manager), insisting I pay for 1/2 the taxi fare to a bank located 75-minutes away. It turns out the wire transfer was rejected because the owner gave me inaccurate account information. In the end, I withdrew the funds from the ATM and paid the owner on the spot. The entire experience was extremely stressful, upsetting, overwhelming, demeaning, and uncomfortable on so many levels. The owner was unfriendly, unhelpful, and focused solely on getting paid without making the payment easy, convenient, or safe for the guest. Despite the caring staff that work for this man, I would not recommend a stay here unless you are only staying a night or two, or have the cash with you when you arrive.

This was the most beautiful place in every way. Our room directly overlooked the sea where we could watch, from our cool, breezy terrace, the sun rise. It is incredible. The pool is secluded, immaculately clean save for the falling frangipani flowers. The restaurant is peaceful, again directly looking over the sea to the quiet bay filled with fishing boats. They serve brilliant food particularly local specialities which we had not seen in other places. They catered so well to our vegetarian/ vegan diet. Breakfast is also delicious with a wide range of options. The staff are incredibly helpful and welcoming. As if that is not enough, the snorkeling is the best we've experienced in 6 months across Asia and Australia, accessed directly off the beach outside the restaurant. We just wish we could have stayed longer!

Very good value for money. Made was so friendly and helpful going over and beyond to help us. Very clean, excellent view from the balcony. Great to watch the fisherman in the morning

A bit far away from centre

Nestled in the heart of Bali, Meditasi Bungalows and Villas exceeded all expectations for a perfect tropical getaway. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with genuine warmth and hospitality. The check-in process was smooth and efficient, owner proposed for us a transfer from airport to hotel, which was really helpful. Our room was nothing short of spectacular, offering breathtaking views of sea. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, ensuring a restful night's sleep after adventurous days exploring the island. We were sleeping with a sounds of sea. Wild black sand beach near by hotel was almost private) no tourists at all during our stay on it. The hotel's restaurants served dishes that celebrated local flavors, we were enjoying breakfast overlooking the sea view. What truly set Meditasi apart was its exceptional staff. Owner personally went above and beyond to ensure our stay was memorable, offering personalized recommendations for activities and excursions around Bali. His genuine warmth and professionalism made us feel welcome and valued throughout our entire stay. Overall, Meditasi provided an unforgettable experience that encapsulates the essence of Bali: beauty, tranquility, and unparalleled hospitality. Whether you're seeking a romantic retreat this hotel offers everything you need for a perfect stay in Bali paradise.

The room was excellent and very comfortable for a family of 4. Beautiful views of the garden and ocean.

The location was slightly far away from some of the more sandy beaches which the children liked but if I had done my research better I would have been more aware of this. However if offered a very peaceful setting away from crowds and was a great place to slow down.

My husband and I booked in a sea front room overlooking the ocean. We stayed in a room upstairs which was beautiful. The room was spacious with spectacular views overlooking the sea and also the stunning hills behind us. It was in a beautiful location, although a little way out from the main area of Amed. A great location to view the sunrise.

The restaurant attached to the bungalow, although it provides tasty food, is dated and needs a fresh look.

Everything about Meditasi was bliss. Quite isolated location which added to the serenity.
