"Best accommodation in Nara"

We loved everything about our stay at Hotobil. The beds were incredibly comfortable, the host was very welcoming, it was our favourite place to stay in Japan. The location is also very pretty. Our breakfast was also delicious and we stayed in one night and had the dinner which was fantastic!

"Superb"

Very traditional Japanese stay experience. The tatami is very comfortable. Host is wonderful and very communicative over the app. She cooked us an amazing traditional Japanese breakfast.

This property is cash only so please be prepared to pay with cash. We had to find other tourists to exchange RMB <> YEN as we didn’t bring enough USD nor our debit card, which was slightly inconvenient and stressful. If you prepare sufficient cash in advance, this won’t be a problem!

"The best place to stay in Nara."

Absolutely fabulous place to stay. The location was great to explore Nara, especially away from the main tourist areas (eg the Park). We had a very warm welcome, and a lovely set of rooms (complete with kitchen, which was a treat). Breakfast was out of this world (including the best chocolate cake I've ever had - and I've had a lot of cake!). Also arranged dinner one night which was also amazing. All brilliant.

exceptionally large & private space -- ie, the whole 2nd floor -- in a relatively simple & authentic ryokan ... with ample parking, laundry facilities & a quite tasty breakfast to boot. the sweet hostess (w/good english) is extremely accommodating & very kindly went out of her way to send my forgotten shoes on to one of our next hotels. a totally comfortable place to stay in a quiet neighborhood

"Exceptional"

Authentic and cosy ryokan experience. The host is a really nice lady who speaks good English and is a great cook. Breakfast was delicious! Futons was sooo comfortable that we had trouble getting out of. The kotatsu table was a nice and cosy addition as well! Wish we had a longer stay 🥰

"Amazing place in Nara"

Places was really authentic, futon was incredible, and owner was really sweet and spoke good English. Dog was cool. Japanese breakfast was amazing.
