It was definitely a unique opportunity to experience a traditional setting, and I appreciated the insight into that cultural atmosphere. However, I personally found the small wooden space and the futon setup a bit uncomfortable for me, as it was tricky balancing warmth and ventilation. While it may be perfect for others seeking a very authentic experience, it just wasn’t quite my fit. Still, I can say the cultural aspect is something I’m glad I got to see, and I think it will be memorable for anyone who loves tradition.

Everything on this ryokan was perfect, so peaceful, the private onsen was an absolute delight to do specially after a long day of walking, the service was impeccable!

All the staff were very welcoming, helpful, and friendly. The room was spacious and had it's own private soaking tub in the bathroom, the inner garden is peaceful and serene, the public bath was beautiful and the soaking tub was hot! The entire facility is charming - it's easy to imagine one has traveled back in time to a much older Japan. The Japanese breakfast was over-the-top delicious, plentiful, and beautifully presented. We were able to take part in a traditional tea ceremony, where we met the host, and which included a tour of the ryokan by our lovely English-speaking guide, Miku. It was everything we had been hoping a ryokan experience would be.

Is there's anything "negative" to say, is that due to our room location (we were quite near the kitchen), it was easy to hear the morning bustle, but ear plugs help, and it was actually lovely to hear the laughter and banter between the workers - that's always a sign that the management treats them well and they enjoy working there.
