"BYO tea, coffee, sugar, milk. Hope for peace, not loud music all night like we had."

4.0

The yurt was cool. A bit different.

I expected basics. There was no coffee, tea or milk. It was a lovely quiet location until ridiculously loud music started in the evening and didn’t stop until almost daylight. My young son and I ended up sleeping in the car.

The view from the other side of the hill was nice
and thats about the only good thing about this stay. The “view” from the Yurt was overgrown the bushes had not been trimmed in a very long time, destroying any part of the hillside views. The road to get to this location was extremely torn apart and you would need a 4WD just to drive here. This information should have been included in the advertisement.

There is nothing “luxurious” about this stay - On arrival the Yurt was incredibly hot it felt like a sauna, we literally had to wait for sundown to enter and sit down. The route to to get to this location is dangerous and the actual road is missing in many parts, suggest a 4WD only to attempt this road and there are sections where only one vehicle can pass at any time. Once the sun went down and the Yurt cooled off enough to step inside we realised the bed was being held together by a pile of books in the centre. Assuming this was just to hold the centre we braved the night and attempted to lay on the bed, both myself and my partner fell straight through. On further inspection the actual bed frame was cracked and missing screws. We pulled the mattress over to the floor and slept their for the night - having a very serious pre exisiting back injury this incident and subsequently sleeping on the floor meant i could not drive to work the next morning and ended up in agony for the next few days. We had bought the bed frame condition to the attention of the Yurt owners who had offered us to stay in their home for the second night. Given i needed medical attention we declined staying in someone’s private home, not knowing what the house would be like given the title Luxury was given to their dilapidated accomodation. To add to the discomfort of this “luxury” location the toilet seat was not only the wrong size but it was also broken. Towels were covered in what appeared to be blood and make up stains. There was no inclusions as stated in the advertisement such as basics like Tea and Coffee and the cups, plates, tea spoons appeared to be unwashed. It concerns me that the Yurts are not looked after - that people pay a lot of money with the expectation of basics and no Maintenance is applied to the home. I don’t believe the bed sheets were even washed. The Yurt itself is a health hazard and was covered in black mould and unfortunately accompanied by a off like smell.

"It just fell short of “luxury” was more like"

The place was very cute. Certainly nice - definitely a far way from “luxury”

We called ahead to ask if our daughter could stay and if there were additional beds, all was confirmed - yea the sofa is also a bed and sheets would be provided. Well there were no sheets at all. Our daughter slept on the extra doona we found in the cupboard and we had thankfully brought a sleeping bag.
