Tatura Country Motel

Have stayed here a number of times, good location and comfortable enough. Nice to be able to sit outside and listen to the parrots. Never again though after this experience.

On arrival we were greeted by an extremely drunk woman slumped on the ground outside the room next door. Loud music, copious swearing and banging on door/window yelling at whoever was in that room. Knocking on our door asking us to call police. We phoned the manager who doesn’t live on site, he seemed to be already very familiar with these guests and their circumstances. We went out for dinner and he later called to say he had attended and everything was under control. After we returned to the room things were initially quiet then eventually escalated with one of these guests attacking the other’s car outside our room, besides lots of screaming and beating on door/window for an extended period. Another guest left as she was frightened. We called the police who attended promptly. We eventually got to sleep around 1am. We stayed a second night and all was well although we did notice these guests were still in the room(!) As we were getting ready to check out I discovered payment for our room had been debited from a different card to the one I used on the booking platform when making our reservation. It’s a card I have used at the property previously, which is quite a concern. I approached the manager and stated I wasn’t happy about paying for our first night there as it was a pretty ordinary experience. He immediately became very hostile, in fact the level of hostility surprised me. I also raised the issue of the wrong card being used. His response was, “do you always blame everyone else for everything?” Wow. He refused to investigate or rectify the card issue. He stated he had done the right thing by calling the police (it was actually us who called them), and removing the guests - who were still in residence when we checked out! He did return shortly afterward and apologised, and refunded one night to us. I can only assume this is a government -funded short term accommodation arrangement which is probably pretty lucrative.

They only service room ever second day need more tea and sugar and it would have been nice to be told this They have a toaster but no plate or knife Poor water pressure

Clean and the staff were excellent.

Layout with separate rooms and extremely clean

Clean and tidy inside and outside. Nice gardens

Bathroom set up was a bit strange

Clean well presented room that had everything I needed.
